What was in the original Woolworths range?
Gelato Messina described the October 2024 range as exclusive to Woolworths in Australia. It comprised six pints and three cakes.

- Super Vanilla: Vanilla gelato with vanilla fudge made using Heilala vanilla.
- Dulce de Leche: Gelato with dulce de leche made by Messina.
- Pistachio Praline: Fior di latte with house-made pistachio fudge and praline.
- Hazelnut Praline: Light chocolate gelato with hazelnut praline and fudge.
- Robert Brownie Jr.: Chocolate gelato with milk chocolate fudge and brownie.
- Tiramisu: Tiramisu gelato with coffee syrup.
Three ice cream cakes
- Tiramisu: Tiramisu Bavarian cake with coffee-soaked sponge and cocoa.
- Iced Coco: Coconut and raspberry Bavarian cake with raspberry gel, desiccated coconut and a coconut biscuit base.
- Choc Malt: Chocolate malt Bavarian cake with malt fudge, malt chantilly, shaved dark chocolate and a chocolate biscuit base.
What were the launch prices?
In its 14 October 2024 announcement, Gelato Messina listed launch prices of $14.50 per pint and $30 per cake. Those figures describe the original launch, not a verified current price for those products. Check the relevant Woolworths listing and selected store for current price and stock.
Was the range available at every Woolworths?
The launch announcement said Super Vanilla and Pistachio Praline pints would be offered across Woolworths stores nationwide. Other flavours and cakes were to be stocked selectively according to store size, so the full range was not guaranteed at every location. Cakes were excluded from Western Australia and the Northern Territory because of distribution restrictions. That launch information does not confirm present-day availability.

How does the later layered-tub range differ?
Gelato Messina’s current Woolworths collection page features a later, distinct range called “Layered Gelato Tubs,” rather than simply listing the original 2024 lineup. It names The Choc Master, The Nutty Affair and Super Pistachio, each in a 490 ml tub. The page displayed a price of $14.50 AUD for those products when accessed; check the listing for the current price and store availability.
The brand’s collection page also says a small amount of packaging for the new layered products had fat and protein values swapped. Gelato Messina said the gelato was safe to eat and that it was correcting the affected packaging. This statement concerns the stated packaging issue; consult the product’s current label for its nutrition information.

What should you check before buying?
- Store stock: Availability can differ by store. Select a Woolworths location and check its listing rather than assuming the entire range is stocked locally.
- Current price and product range: The original prices and selection were announced in October 2024. The brand’s later collection page features a different layered-tub line, and neither page establishes live stock at a particular store.
- Allergens and ingredients: Woolworths lists milk, soy and pistachio as allergens for its Pistachio Praline listing, with a may-contain warning for egg, peanuts, sesame, gluten, almond, cashew, hazelnut, macadamia, pecan, walnut and wheat. Those details apply to that listed flavour, not every Messina product. Woolworths also lists dairy, hazelnut and soy ingredients for Hazelnut Praline. Its product information warns that listings are a guide and may change, so read the package label for the product in hand.
Why did Messina bring the range to supermarkets?
Founder Nick Palumbo told PerthNow that “the next step for us was to find a way to make our products accessible to everyone across the country, without compromising on quality.” He also described the supermarket range as a way to bring Messina’s flavours to more Australians. These were his stated aims for the launch; they do not indicate that every product would be stocked at every store.
