What was the GIC Re 2023 recruitment?
General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) invited Indian citizens to compete for 85 Assistant Manager (Scale-I) officer vacancies. The official advertisement described the recruitment as being for officers “in the cadre of Assistant Manager (Scale I) from the open market.” This was a single recruitment cycle, not an active application window.
Are applications still open?
No. Online registration and fee payment ran from 23 December 2023 through 12 January 2024. The notice required candidates to apply online. The deadline has passed, so the old notice should not be treated as an invitation to submit an application or pay a fee now.
What were the eligibility requirements?
Eligibility depended on the vacancy stream. Age limits and other category-specific requirements also applied. Anyone checking whether they met the historical criteria should consult the official detailed advertisement and confirm the conditions for the particular stream and category.
What were the fee and selection process?
As historical terms, the advertisement listed an application and examination fee of ₹1,000 plus 18% GST for candidates who were not exempt. It listed exemptions for SC/ST candidates, persons with disabilities, women, and employees of GIC and GIPSA member companies. These were conditions for the closed 2023 recruitment, not a current payment request.
The selection process comprised an online test, group discussion and interview. The notice stated that the initial posting would be at GIC Re’s corporate office in Mumbai, with possible transfer within India or abroad as required.
When was the exam, and how can candidates check the result?
GIC Re’s Careers page lists 9 March 2024 as the written examination date for the FY 2023-24 recruitment. It also records later shortlist, result and final cutoff notices. The official result portal identifies the same examination and provides individual written-test lookup using a roll number and date of birth.
