Matt LeBlanc’s $11 story is an anecdote he reportedly told about the day he was hired for Friends—not a verified account of his bank balance. And although one celebrity site puts his net worth at an estimated $80 million, that figure is not established by audited records or a transparent calculation.

Was Matt LeBlanc really down to his last $11?

A 2011 Independent report says LeBlanc recalled having “exactly $11 in my pocket the day I was hired” for Friends. The paper said the quote came from an interview with The Sun; it did not independently verify how much money he had.

In the same reported recollection, LeBlanc described Friends as his fourth television series after three earlier series had failed. He also said he read for Joey six times and that getting the role had been far from certain. These are details from the 2011 report, not independently checked production records. Read the 2011 Independent report.

The $11 figure is best understood as LeBlanc’s reported snapshot of his circumstances on a particular day. It does not establish his total assets, debts, income, or financial position over a longer period.

What did Matt LeBlanc reportedly earn from Friends?

The Independent reported in 2011 that LeBlanc earned $1 million per episode during the show’s final two seasons. This is a reported historical salary, not a full account of his Friends earnings: it does not state his pay in earlier seasons, how much he received after taxes or other costs, or what he later earned from the show.

A per-episode salary and a net-worth estimate measure different things. Salary is reported income for work; net worth would require accounting for assets and liabilities at a particular date. The reported salary alone cannot confirm a present-day fortune.

Is Matt LeBlanc’s net worth really $80 million?

BounceMojo publishes an $80 million estimate for LeBlanc’s net worth. That is a third-party estimate, not a verified personal financial statement. The page does not provide an auditable calculation or primary financial records supporting the amount. See BounceMojo’s estimate.

The sources cited here do not establish LeBlanc’s current net worth. Celebrity wealth estimates should therefore be treated as claims made by the sites publishing them, not as confirmed totals. Without reliable records of both assets and liabilities, the $80 million figure remains unverified.

What can the available figures tell you?

  • $11: LeBlanc’s reported recollection of the cash in his pocket on the day he was hired for Friends.
  • $1 million per episode: A 2011 report of his salary for the show’s final two seasons.
  • $80 million: BounceMojo’s published net-worth estimate, not a confirmed financial figure.

These figures answer different questions and come with different levels of evidence. The first two are attributed to a report of LeBlanc’s statements or earnings; the last is a site’s estimate. None is a substitute for a verified statement of his current wealth.
