What was Fremantle Lager?
Fremantle Lager was a collaboration between Pirate Life and the Fremantle Dockers, described by PerthNow as the pair’s third collaboration beer. The release was timed ahead of Fremantle’s Retro Round match against Geelong, scheduled for 10 August 2024. Its can design drew inspiration from the Dockers’ inaugural jumper and the club’s 1995 heritage.
Pirate Life co-founder Jack Cameron described the partnership as rooted in “mateship and a mutual love of footy and beer.” He also said the brewery was “stoked to have teamed up with the Freo Dockers for our third collaboration beer.”
What did Fremantle Lager taste like?
PerthNow characterized the lager as crisp and uncomplicated, with light malt notes, hints of citrus, and a clean, dry finish. The report did not give a full brewing specification or an alcohol-by-volume figure for Fremantle Lager.

Where was it available?
At launch, the beer was reported to be available at select bottle shops south of the river and on tap at select venues. The report did not name the outlets, and that 2024 launch information does not establish whether any stock remains available now.
How did it differ from the earlier Wharfie Draught?
PerthNow described the earlier Wharfie Draught collaboration as an easy-drinking beer at 4.4% ABV. That figure applies to Wharfie Draught only; it should not be assumed for Fremantle Lager, whose ABV was not stated in the report.
