Freedom told MobileSyrup it could not authenticate the claim or find a customer with that much outstanding. The report does not establish whether the image was genuine or whether the matter was later resolved.
What the report says
MobileSyrup reported on October 28, 2025, and updated its story on October 29, that a Reddit user posted an image purportedly showing a Freedom Mobile bill with $926,860 owed. The poster identified Vancouver, British Columbia, according to the report.
MobileSyrup said Freedom could not authenticate the claim and could not identify an account in its systems with that amount outstanding. The carrier reportedly tried to contact the poster through Reddit but did not receive a response. It encouraged people with genuine billing concerns to contact Freedom directly. Why the $926,860 figure is not a confirmed bill
The amount comes from an image attributed to a Reddit poster; it is not an independently authenticated Freedom account balance. The carrier’s reported inability to verify the claim does not establish that the image was false, nor does it confirm that Freedom issued a bill for that amount. The report provides no account records or other independent verification.

It also does not say whether the poster later responded, whether Freedom corrected an account, or whether any billing issue was resolved. The customer’s identity and the image’s validity remain unknown based on the report.
The Bell case was a separate billing incident
MobileSyrup also mentioned a different case involving a Bell customer who received an erroneous $1.6 million bill; the report said the customer’s number was deactivated because of that mistake. That separate incident does not authenticate the Freedom image or show that Freedom made a billing error.

What customers should do about a disputed phone bill
Freedom’s reported advice was to contact the carrier directly about genuine billing concerns. A viral image alone cannot establish what is owed on an account; customers seeking to resolve a real dispute should use the carrier’s direct support channel and refer to their own account and bill.
