F5, Inc. reported $780 million in revenue for its third quarter of fiscal 2025, up 12% from a year earlier. After the July 30, 2025 earnings release, GeekWire reported F5 shares were up more than 8% in after-hours trading. That was a dated market reaction, not a current share-price change, and the timing alone does not establish that any single result caused the move.
What F5 reported for Q3 FY2025
F5’s third quarter of fiscal 2025 ended June 30, 2025; the company announced results on July 30. Revenue was $780 million, compared with $695 million in Q3 FY2024, a 12% year-over-year increase, according to F5’s earnings release.
Product growth led the increase
Product revenue grew 26%. Within that category, systems revenue rose 39% to $181 million and software revenue increased 16% to $208 million. Services revenue was $392 million, up 1%. The figures show that product demand was the faster-growing part of the business in this quarter, while services growth was modest.
Profit rose on both accounting measures
F5 reported GAAP net income of $190 million, or $3.25 per diluted share, for Q3 FY2025. In Q3 FY2024, GAAP net income was $144 million, or $2.44 per diluted share.

GAAP and non-GAAP figures use different accounting treatments; they should be read as distinct measures rather than interchangeable descriptions of profit.

Why the stock move needs context
GeekWire reported that F5 shares rose more than 8% in after-hours trading following the announcement. The percentage describes a reported reaction at that time; it is not a current quote, and the available reporting does not establish that revenue growth, guidance, or any other individual item caused the move. After-hours trading is a separate trading session, so the reported move should not be mistaken for a verified regular-session closing return.

The $780 million figure belongs to Q3 FY2025, not the most recent quarter. In its Q3 FY2026 release dated July 27, 2026, F5 reported revenue of $865 million, 11% above the $780 million recorded in Q3 FY2025. The later result is documented in F5’s Q3 FY2026 release.
