The FTC is no longer accepting claims for the Fortnite refund settlement. The deadline was July 9, 2025. If you already filed, the FTC says additional payments are expected in 2026 after claims are reviewed and validated; check the official Fortnite refund page for updates. There is no way to submit a new claim now.
Can you still file a Fortnite FTC claim?
No. The FTC’s claim window closed on July 9, 2025, and the agency says it is no longer accepting claims. The eligibility rules below explain who could have applied while the window was open; they are not a way to apply now.
What the $245 million settlement covers
The Federal Trade Commission finalized an order requiring Epic Games to pay $245 million to consumers in connection with unwanted Fortnite purchases. The FTC alleged that confusing purchase controls led to unintended charges, children could make purchases without parental consent, and some consumers were locked out of accounts after disputing charges. These are allegations addressed through the FTC order, not a guarantee that any particular player experienced them or qualifies for a refund. FTC settlement announcement
The same settlement package also included a separate $275 million COPPA penalty. That penalty is not part of the consumer refund fund and is not money claimants can request.

- Their child made charges to their credit card without their knowledge between January 2017 and November 2018.
- Their account was locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after they complained to their credit-card company about wrongful charges.
A claimant had to be at least 18 to complete the form. A parent or guardian had to submit it for someone younger than 18. These criteria describe the now-closed claim process; meeting one does not open a new application opportunity. FTC eligibility and refund information

When will Fortnite settlement payments arrive?
The FTC says additional payments are expected in 2026, after submitted claims are reviewed and validated. The agency’s current refund page does not give an exact date for those payments or a current amount for each claimant. It also cannot establish an individual claim’s status; use the FTC page for official updates.
For context, the FTC reported that it sent 969,173 payments totaling more than $126 million in June 2025 to consumers with valid claims filed by February 14, 2025. An earlier round, reported in 2024, consisted of 629,344 payments totaling more than $72 million, with an average of about $114 for that round. Neither the earlier average nor those totals establish what a particular claimant will receive. FTC June 2025 payment update FTC 2024 payment update

How to avoid Fortnite refund scams
The FTC says it never requires people to pay money or provide account information to get a refund. Do not pay a supposed claims helper or refund agent, and do not give them account details to release a payment. Use the FTC page and the administrator number above rather than contact information in an unsolicited message. FTC refund-safety warning
