End Game Interactive announced a $3 million seed round on February 28, 2020, led by Makers Fund. The studio said the financing would support continued game development, building on the audience for ZombsRoyale.io and its other titles. The announcement records the company’s plans at that time; it does not establish what happened to those plans later.

How much did End Game Interactive raise?

The company raised $3 million in seed funding, according to contemporaneous reports by TechCrunch, GamesBeat and PocketGamer.biz. Makers Fund led the round. All three articles agree on the amount and lead investor.

Who invested in the round?

TechCrunch named Supercell and several individual participants alongside Makers Fund: Unity CEO David Helgason, Twitch COO Kevin Lin, Twitch VP Hubert Thieblot, Danny Epstien, Alexandre Cohen of Main Street Advisors, and Scooter Braun. PocketGamer.biz also named Supercell but published a narrower list. Because the reports differ in detail, these are publication-specific participant lists, not a definitive claim that every investor has been identified.

What did End Game Interactive make?

ZombsRoyale.io

End Game Interactive developed ZombsRoyale.io, a real-time multiplayer shooter playable in browsers across platforms. GamesBeat described it as a simplified battle-royale game with a top-down animated presentation. The studio’s founders, Yang C. Liu and Luke Zbihlyj, had previously worked on PokéVision; TechCrunch described the studio’s run of games as including Zombs.io, Spinz.io and Zombs Royale.

Audience figures reported in 2020

Coverage attached different audience figures to different scopes, and the reports did not provide counting methods that would make them directly comparable. TechCrunch said End Game reported more than 160 million players across its titles and one million people playing in a single day. GamesBeat reported more than 160 million unique players across the company’s releases since 2017. PocketGamer.biz reported 45 million players for ZombsRoyale.io specifically. These were press-reported company or game figures, not independently verified measurements; they should not be added together.

What did the funding support?

End Game framed the investment as backing more game development rather than a single announced product. In TechCrunch’s account, Liu said the company wanted funding for “many tries” at cross-platform multiplayer games, with rapid experimentation and games designed to scale from small beginnings. The report quoted him saying, “We pride ourselves on rapid experimentation,” and also, “We’re just building games. And to be honest, we don’t know what we’re doing.”

The investors’ comments were endorsements, not independent assessments of the studio. TechCrunch quoted Supercell Developer Relations Lead Jaakko Harlas praising the team’s ability to ship accessible games and saying Supercell looked forward to supporting its search for the next hit. GamesBeat quoted Makers Fund founding partner Jay Chi saying the team had “an intuitive sense of the space.”

What the 2020 announcement does—and does not—establish

The funding reports document a seed round and the studio’s stated ambitions as of February 2020. GamesBeat also reported a plan for Fate Arena, but that announcement alone does not show whether the game launched or what became of it. End Game Interactive’s currently accessible homepage identifies the company and links to company, games, careers, press and legal pages, but does not clarify the studio’s present operations, ownership, ZombsRoyale.io availability or Fate Arena’s status. The round is therefore evidence of historical financing and plans—not confirmation of the company’s current status or later outcomes.
