Gareth Southgate topped Finance Football’s reported Euro 2024 manager salary ranking at €5.8 million a year, ahead of Julian Nagelsmann at €4.8 million. These are reported annual salary estimates, not confirmed contract terms: Finance Football says some figures in its ranking were not officially confirmed.

How to read the salary figures
The ranking is a comparison of reported annual amounts, not a verified payroll or a complete account of each coach’s compensation. It does not establish whether every amount refers to base salary alone, includes bonuses, or follows the same contract definition. It also does not give a method for how each estimate was assembled.
#1 Best Overall
- It must be inflated
- High quality
- Highly durable
- Wonderful as a gift
Other contemporary coverage should not be merged into this euro ranking as though the figures were directly comparable. Planet Football’s June 13, 2024 list attributes sterling figures to Finance Football, including about £4.9 million for Southgate and £4 million for Nagelsmann. Sporty Salaries instead separates “Base Salary” and “Bonus”; for example, it lists Nagelsmann at £5 million base plus £1.5 million bonus and Southgate at £4.7 million base plus £1 million bonus. The pages do not establish a shared exchange-rate date or compensation definition, so these amounts do not reconcile the euro estimates.

UEFA’s coach-history page, dated July 13, 2024, provides tournament context, including the national-team coaches who took part. It is not a salary source and does not verify Finance Football’s pay estimates.
