The label, named for her daughter, was featured at New York Swim Week on July 26, 2025—a runway appearance later listed in the event’s post-show coverage.
Who is Lauree Conte?
Conte spent 20 years working in corporate mining before starting the swimwear label. Her daughter, Ella Marie, inspired its name. In a July 2025 interview with PerthNow, Conte said she wanted to build a business that would let her be more present in her daughter’s daily life: “Being able to come home every single day, drop my daughter at school and pick her up is essentially the end goal.”
She also described the confidence she hoped the brand would support: “I’ve always been about feeling confident, feeling powerful, feeling good within your own skin.”
What is EllaMarie Swimwear?
EllaMarie is a Perth swimwear start-up focused on bikini separates and a one-piece style. Conte described the designs as “very sexy, very sleek” and adjustable. She told PerthNow that she had found it difficult to source quality swimwear for her own curvy body and hoped the range could address a gap. That is Conte’s account of the opportunity, not an independently measured assessment of the swimwear market.

The official catalog lists bikini tops, bikini bottoms and an Euphoria one-piece. XS, S and M selectors are visible on sampled items; those listings do not establish the label’s full size range, and selection and stock can change.
What happened at New York Swim Week?
A July 8, 2025 PerthNow report said EllaMarie had been called up to feature at New York Swim Week on July 26. The event had already taken place by the time of the later coverage: a July 31, 2025 roundup by Fashion Trendsetter included Ella Marie among the featured designers. Conte said she was excited to represent Western Australia.

What materials does the brand say it uses?
PerthNow reported that EllaMarie used fabric from Italian producer Carvico, describing it as comprising 78% recycled fibres and as chlorine-resistant, rated SPF 50+ and durable. The brand’s homepage also claims 78% recycled fibres. These are claims attributed to the report and brand; the sources do not provide independent product testing or identify a precise fabric name.
What did the swimwear cost?
In the July 2025 PerthNow report, bikini tops were typically AUD $65 and bottoms started at AUD $65. The current catalog displays sale prices on listed merchandise, which can change along with stock and available sizes. Check the live listings for current prices rather than treating the 2025 figures as current.

Where was the label based?
The 2025 PerthNow report said EllaMarie was based out of Savvy Brands’ East Fremantle store. It also pointed readers to the brand’s online shop. The report does not establish whether the store remains a current stockist, so check with the business before visiting.
