JetBlue’s final Embraer E190 revenue flight operated on September 9, 2025: commemorative flight 190 from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Boston. The airline said the flight marked the type’s official retirement from its fleet, so the headline’s suggestion that the flight is still scheduled is outdated.
What happened on JetBlue’s final E190 flight?
JetBlue identified flight 190 from JFK to Boston as the E190’s final revenue flight. The airline announced the retirement on September 9, 2025, and described the event as the end of the aircraft’s service in its fleet. JetBlue’s retirement announcement gives the date and route.
“Final revenue flight” is the useful distinction: it identifies the last scheduled passenger-service flight, not necessarily the last time an E190 airframe or engine moved. Aircraft sales, returns and other fleet-disposal activity continued after the commemorative flight.
Why did JetBlue retire the E190?
The E190 had 100 customer seats and entered JetBlue service in 2005. JetBlue said it was the first airline in the world to fly the type and characterized its retirement as ending nearly two decades of service. The airline said the move completed its transition to an all-Airbus fleet, including the A220-300.

JetBlue had previously planned to retire the E190 fleet by the end of 2026. In 2022, it said it would accelerate that timeline to mid-2025. The final revenue flight followed that accelerated plan.
What happened to the aircraft after retirement?
Retirement from passenger service did not mean every aircraft and part was disposed of on September 9, 2025. JetBlue’s 2025 annual report described sale agreements covering 25 owned E190 airframes and 60 engines, and reported a $32 million net gain related to E190 fleet transactions during 2025. Those figures concern JetBlue’s reported transactions, not the total number of E190s ever operated by the airline.

In its second-quarter 2026 filing, JetBlue said it sold remaining owned E190 airframes and certain engines and spare parts in the first half of 2026, while returning remaining leased aircraft. As of June 30, 2026, one E190 engine and related parts remained available for sale. These later asset transactions are separate from the last revenue flight and do not establish that no aircraft made a ferry, storage or other non-revenue movement afterward.
Can you still book a JetBlue E190 flight?
No. JetBlue retired the E190 from its fleet in 2025, so there are no current JetBlue E190 revenue flights to book. The aircraft transition brought the airline to an all-Airbus fleet, including the A220-300. The cited retirement announcement establishes that transition but does not provide a quantitative E190-versus-A220 comparison of seat capacity, range, operating cost or passenger experience.

What is known—and not established—about flight 190?
JetBlue’s announcement establishes the date, JFK-to-Boston route and status as the final E190 revenue flight. It does not identify the passenger list, the aircraft’s registration, or where each retired airframe went afterward. Later SEC filings confirm the retirement and disposal activity, but not the subsequent destination of every aircraft.
