What is known about the Doosan GridTech layoffs
GeekWire reported on March 2, 2026, that Doosan GridTech planned to cut 18 jobs connected to its Bellevue office. Washington’s May 2026 economic report separately records 18 permanent layoffs in Bellevue effective May 1, 2026. The state entry reads: “Doosan GridTech – Bellevue – 5/1 – 18 workers – layoff, permanent.” GeekWire’s report and the Washington report support the reported headcount, location connection, timing and permanent classification.
Do the layoffs mean the Bellevue office closed?
No office closure is documented in the cited layoff reporting or the state report. The reports describe an 18-person reduction connected to Bellevue, not a shutdown of the office or Doosan GridTech’s Seattle-area operations.
Doosan GridTech’s careers page describes the company as headquartered near Seattle, with team members across the United States, Korea and Australia. Its current contact page lists a U.S. address in Bend, Oregon, and an appointment-only address in Beverly Hills, California, but no Seattle-area address. A Washington monthly-report search result also shows a separate Doosan GridTech Bellevue entry for 24 workers dated February 27, 2026. The available information does not establish how that entry relates to the 18 layoffs effective May 1. Doosan GridTech develops software for grid modernization and battery energy storage. The company says its solutions serve utilities, project developers, and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms.
