Elbit Systems of America, LLC, Elbit Systems Ltd.’s wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, completed its acquisition of 100% of M7 Aerospace LP on December 15, 2010. Elbit disclosed an all-cash purchase price of $85 million. M7 was a San Antonio aviation-services company whose work included aircraft maintenance, engineering, logistics, modifications and parts support.
What Elbit acquired and when
The buyer named in the transaction was Elbit Systems of America (ESA), not Elbit Systems Ltd. directly. ESA acquired all of M7 Aerospace LP in a transaction completed on December 15, 2010, for $85 million in cash, according to Elbit Systems’ completion announcement and ESA’s announcement.
What M7 Aerospace did
M7 was based in San Antonio, Texas, and operated as an aviation-services and support business—not a consumer aircraft-products retailer. Elbit’s transaction-era descriptions covered a broad set of capabilities:
- Aerostructures manufacturing and aircraft parts support
- Government logistics, supply-chain management and purchasing
- Aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, including airframe repair
- Engineering, avionics upgrades and special-mission modifications
- Reset programs and other support for commercial and military aircraft
These are the capabilities Elbit described around the acquisition; they should not be read as a verified description of M7’s standalone scope today.

Why Elbit said it bought M7
Elbit said M7 would join ESA’s Services and Support Solutions business unit and expand its ability to support large aircraft fleets, multi-site contractor logistics, life-cycle contractor support and depot work for U.S. military fleets. It also presented M7’s avionics and airframe capabilities as additions for commercial and military customers. Those points describe Elbit’s stated rationale; the announcement did not quantify the acquisition’s later financial return or establish that every anticipated opportunity materialized.
At the time, Raanan Horowitz, then president and CEO of ESA, said: “We are pleased to take this important step towards enhancing our support solutions capabilities in the U.S. market.”
What later disclosures show
Elbit’s 2024 annual report listed M7 Aerospace LLC among ESA’s major wholly owned subsidiaries and identified San Antonio as an ESA operating location. That supports saying M7 remained listed within the corporate structure for that reporting period. It does not establish the company’s standalone brand, facility, workforce or operating scope as of October 2026.
A 2017 Elbit announcement provides an example of later fleet-support work: M7 received work through DynCorp International supporting the U.S. Army’s C-26 and UC-35 aircraft fleet. The announcement described aircraft modifications and upgrades, site- and depot-level maintenance, and material management, with services managed in San Antonio. It set a one-year base period at up to $25 million and five one-year options; the stated maximum was up to $176 million only if all options were exercised. That ceiling was conditional, not guaranteed revenue or evidence that the full amount was earned. See Elbit’s contract announcement.

What the $85 million figure means
The $85 million was Elbit’s disclosed cash consideration for acquiring M7 in 2010. It is not a later valuation, an industry statistic or a figure comparable to the potential value of the 2017 support contract. Elbit’s 2024 annual report is the cited source for M7’s listing among ESA subsidiaries; Elbit’s second-quarter 2026 results do not provide M7-specific standalone operating details.
