Yes, you can still get a free coffee with Dunkin’ Rewards. Dunkin’s current catalog lists a small, medium, or large hot or iced coffee or tea for 600 points. The “fewer free drinks” change is a higher point hurdle for some popular drinks, not the elimination of drink rewards.
What can you redeem points for now?
Dunkin’s public catalog lists these current reward categories and point costs. Catalog values can change, so check the live app before redeeming.
| Reward category | Points | Examples listed by Dunkin |
|---|---|---|
| Li’l Treats | 150 | 3-count Munchkins, 6-count hash browns, cold foam, or selected add-ins |
| Classic donut | 300 | One classic donut |
| Bakery | 400 | 10-count Munchkins, a muffin, or an iced loaf slice |
| Bites & Bagels | 500 | Wake-Up Wrap, Stuffed Bagel Minis, Croissant Stuffers, Snackin’ Bacon, or a bagel with cream cheese |
| Coffee & tea | 600 | Small, medium, or large hot or iced coffee or tea |
| Non-coffee drinks | 800 | Refreshers, hot chocolate, chai latte, or matcha latte |
| Breakfast sandwich | 900 | A listed breakfast sandwich with choice of meat, egg, cheese, and bread |
| Specialty coffee & frozen drinks | 950 | Espresso drinks, frozen drinks, Shakin’ Espresso, Cold Brew, Signature Latte, or Dunkalatte |

What changed in the reported overhaul?
Restaurant Association reported that a revised point schedule took effect October 6, 2025. Its account says coffee or tea moved from a previous 400–500-point range to 600 points, and a classic donut rose from 250 to 300. It also reports that Bites & Bagels fell from 600 to 500 points and that Dunkin added a 400-point Bakery category. These before-and-after figures are secondary reporting; Dunkin’s current terms and catalog establish the current redemption rules.
That makes the headline shorthand for a higher hurdle on certain drinks, especially coffee and tea, rather than a disappearance of free drinks. The current catalog still includes coffee, tea, specialty coffee, and frozen drinks. See Restaurant Association’s account of the 2025 schedule revision.

How much spending does a coffee reward represent?
Dunkin says members earn 10 points per dollar on qualifying purchases. At that standard rate, 600 points corresponds to $60 in qualifying spend before bonuses or offers. That is a calculation from the posted earn rate and current coffee threshold, not a separate Dunkin estimate of how much a member must spend. Eligible transactions and exclusions affect how quickly points accumulate.
Dunkin’s FAQ says delivery orders do not earn points or qualify for reward redemption. It also excludes gift-card purchases or reloads, reward redemptions, retail merchandise, Keurig Brewers, donations, newspapers, and purchases through ShopDunkin or other online platforms from earning points. Consult the Dunkin Rewards FAQ for current eligibility details.

Can Boosted Status help you earn points faster?
Yes, if you visit often enough. Dunkin grants three months of Boosted Status after 12 qualifying visits in one calendar month; members with that status earn 12 points per dollar instead of 10, a 20% increase over the standard rate. Visits must be at least 60 minutes apart and include a points-eligible purchase. Redeeming a free reward does not count as a qualifying visit.
When do points and rewards expire?
- Points: They expire 12 months after the last day of the month in which they were earned, regardless of account activity. Dunkin’s terms give the example of points earned December 7, 2025 expiring December 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
- Standard rewards: A converted reward generally expires 30 days after activation. Promotional rewards may have different expiration dates.
Points can be redeemed for rewards only through the app. Dunkin’s Rewards Terms and Conditions say points and rewards have no cash value and generally cannot be transferred. The terms also reserve Dunkin’s right to change program rules and redemption values.

What should members do before redeeming?
- Open the Dunkin app and check the current Rewards catalog; the public catalog may not reflect every offer available to an individual account.
- Check that the intended item and size appear under the reward’s terms, then compare the point cost with other listed rewards you would actually use.
- Review the point balance and expiration dates, and activate a standard reward when you are ready to use it, since it generally expires 30 days after activation.
Offers may vary by geography, participation, or other criteria, according to Dunkin’s terms. Public pages therefore cannot establish which personalized offers a particular member will see.

Dunkin’s October 6, 2022 announcement described the nationwide launch of Dunkin’ Rewards as a redesign of DD Perks. Scott Murphy, then head of the beverage-snack category and president at Dunkin’, said members had asked for “flexibility, variety, and recognition.” That statement concerned the 2022 launch; it should not be treated as Dunkin’s stated reason for the reported 2025 point changes.
