The published weekly-payment period ended April 26; DoorDash later extended the U.S. cash-back offer through June 30, 2026. The Canadian offer used a different formula and had a published end date of June 21, 2026. Those dates have passed, and the sources available do not establish a further extension.
What DoorDash announced in the United States
DoorDash’s March 23 announcement offered U.S. Dashers two distinct benefits. One was a weekly payment based on miles driven while actively completing deliveries. The other was cash back on qualifying gas purchases made with a DoorDash Crimson Visa debit card. They had separate eligibility rules, calculations and end dates.

The mileage threshold referred to active-delivery miles, not ordinary commuting or all personal driving. DoorDash’s announcement gave these weekly examples:

How much was the DoorDash gas relief payment?
Under DoorDash’s published examples, the payment was $5 for 125 active-delivery miles, $10 for 200 miles and $15 for 250 miles in a week. The company said the payment rose with eligible miles and topped out at $15 weekly.
DoorDash also translated those examples into estimated per-gallon savings: $1 at 125 active-delivery miles, $1.25 at 200 miles and $1.50 at 250 miles. These were company estimates, not discounts applied directly at the pump or guaranteed savings. DoorDash based them on an assumed average fuel efficiency of 25.6 miles per gallon and said actual results depended on vehicle efficiency, fuel prices and driving patterns. Who qualified for DoorDash gas relief?
Weekly payment
The weekly payment was tied to miles driven while actively completing deliveries, with a published minimum of 125 active-delivery miles. It was not described as payment for commuting or other personal mileage. DoorDash’s announcement stated the payment examples and maximum but did not set out additional eligibility details in the material cited here.
Crimson cash back
The cash-back offer required an eligible DoorDash Crimson Visa debit card, a qualifying gas purchase at the pump and successful ID verification. When did the DoorDash gas relief program end?
The U.S. weekly mileage-payment program was originally scheduled to run through April 26, 2026. DoorDash’s April 24 update specifically extended the Crimson gas cash-back offer through June 30, 2026, but did not state that the weekly payment was extended too. Both dates have passed. The available announcements and reporting do not establish a later extension, so the published terms should not be treated as a current offer.
Why did DoorDash announce the payments?
DoorDash said its program was meant to ease the effect of rising pump prices on Dashers. The connection to the Iran war comes from contemporary reporting, not from DoorDash’s announcement itself: the Associated Press reported that fuel and crude-oil prices had climbed following the war. The AP put the U.S. national average at $3.96 per gallon on March 23, 2026, citing AAA, and reported that this was 35% above the level a month earlier. It also reported Brent crude briefly exceeded $119 a barrel the previous week, compared with roughly $70 before the war. These are dated figures, not current fuel or oil prices. In May 2026, the AP reported that DoorDash expected to spend more than $50 million on gas-price relief in the second quarter. CFO Ravi Inukonda said the company had pushed out some investments to make room for the expense and that, if DoorDash decided to extend the program, it would seek offsets. DoorDash noted that Crimson cardholders earned 2% cash back on EV charging and that Dashers could access EV-charging discounts through Presto. Those are electric-vehicle charging benefits, not part of the gas-relief payment. The announcement does not establish their current availability or partner terms. DoorDash also announced a GasBuddy integration in 2023 to show nearby fuel prices in the Dasher app; that historical announcement does not establish that the integration remains available.
