Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. There are no verified 2026 Black Friday iPhone prices from Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, or the major carriers yet. AT&T has a page for “Apple Black Friday 2026 Deals,” but it currently says the 2025 holiday season is over and points shoppers to regular offers.
That means any article advertising a specific 2026 Black Friday iPhone price right now is showing a forecast, placeholder, or ordinary August promotion—not a confirmed Black Friday deal. The useful question is how to compare the offers when they arrive, because an Apple gift card, a retailer discount, and a carrier’s “free” iPhone can have very different real-world values.
What iPhones currently cost at Apple
Apple’s current U.S. starting prices provide a baseline for judging a holiday promotion. They are regular prices, not Black Friday prices, and Apple may change availability or pricing before November.
| Model | Current Apple starting price |
|---|---|
| iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max | $1,099 |
| iPhone Air | $999 |
| iPhone 17 | $799 |
| iPhone 17e | $599 |
| iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus | $699 |
Use these figures only as a reference point. A deal is not necessarily good because it is attached to a newer model, and a lower sticker price may come with an expensive wireless plan or a trade-in requirement.

What Apple’s Black Friday offer may look like
Apple’s 2025 U.S. shopping event ran from November 28 through December 1 and primarily used Apple Gift Cards rather than broad, instant iPhone price cuts. Reported iPhone rewards included $50 for the iPhone 16e and $75 for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Reports disagreed about whether the iPhone 17 family qualified, so those 2025 terms should not be treated as a forecast of 2026 eligibility.
When Apple publishes its 2026 event terms, check four details:
- Eligible models: Newer iPhones may be excluded or may receive a different reward from older models.
- Reward amount: Confirm whether the advertised value is an Apple Gift Card, an instant discount, or a trade-in credit.
- Event dates: Confirm the purchase window and whether the offer applies online, in Apple Stores, or both.
- Return treatment: Check what happens to the gift card if you return the phone.
An Apple Gift Card is not cash back at checkout. It can be used in the United States for eligible Apple products, accessories, apps, subscriptions, and services, subject to Apple’s terms. U.S. cards generally cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law, cannot be used to purchase another gift card, and are not interchangeable with cards issued for another country.
Apple allows up to eight Apple Gift Cards for an online purchase and up to 20 in a single Apple Store transaction. That matters if you are combining rewards or buying several devices, but it does not make the card equivalent to a price reduction.
Why carrier deals can look better than they are
The largest headline discounts usually come from wireless carriers. A promotion may describe an iPhone as “free” or advertise hundreds of dollars off, but the saving is commonly delivered as monthly bill credits over a device-payment term.
For example, Verizon says promotional credits can be spread across a 36-month device-payment agreement. Credits may take one or two billing periods to appear and can stop if you cancel the line, pay off the device early, upgrade early, or move to an ineligible plan. The precise rules vary by promotion.

A carrier offer can be worthwhile if you already need that carrier’s qualifying plan and expect to keep it for the entire term. It is less attractive if you are switching solely for the phone. Compare the total cost, not just the device line:
| Cost to include | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Monthly service price | The qualifying plan may cost more than your current plan. |
| Device payment | The phone may still appear as a monthly charge before credits. |
| Taxes and activation fees | These may be due immediately and may not receive credits. |
| Trade-in value | The top advertised amount may require a newer, undamaged phone. |
| Early-exit cost | Remaining device payments may become due if credits stop. |
Example: suppose a carrier offers $800 in credits over 36 months. The credit is about $22.22 per month. If the required plan costs $25 more per month than an equivalent plan you would otherwise choose, the plan premium totals $900 over 36 months—more than the advertised phone saving. This is not automatically a bad offer, but it is not an $800 saving for someone who does not need the plan.
Trade-in rules can change the result
Apple currently advertises up to $205–$720 in trade-in credit toward an iPhone 17, iPhone Air, or iPhone 17 Pro when trading in an iPhone 13 or newer. The amount depends on the exact model and its condition. Apple also advertises carrier promotions offering up to $800–$1,100 in credit after an eligible trade-in. Those are carrier promotions with separate plan, activation, installment, and eligibility rules.
Do not assume that any iPhone receives the maximum. Before accepting a trade-in estimate, check:
- the exact model and storage capacity;
- whether the screen or rear glass is cracked;
- whether the phone powers on and has battery or liquid damage;
- whether the device is paid off and free of an account lock;
- whether the promotion requires a new line, a particular plan, or an existing account history.
For example, Verizon says some trade-in promotions require the old phone to have been active on the account for 60 consecutive days. Verizon also requires conditions such as a working phone, no cracked screen, no battery damage, and Find My iPhone/Activation Lock turned off for applicable trade-ins.
Buying unlocked from Apple
An iPhone bought from Apple by paying in full or using an Apple financing option is unlocked and can be used with any carrier. That flexibility has a financial value: you are not tied to a 36-month credit schedule simply to retain the advertised discount.

An unlocked purchase may be the better choice when you:
- plan to change carriers within the next three years;
- already have a low-cost wireless plan;
- do not have a qualifying phone to trade in;
- want to sell or give away the phone without dealing with carrier credits;
- prefer a clear upfront price over a conditional monthly promotion.
Retailers may offer immediate discounts, store credit, or gift cards on older iPhones. Compare those offers with Apple’s reward only after checking whether the retailer’s price requires activation, a specific payment method, a membership, or a trade-in.
A practical way to compare the November offers
- Write down the phone you actually want. Specify model, storage, color if important, and whether you need a Plus, Pro, or Pro Max. A discount on an unwanted configuration is not a saving.
- Record the no-deal baseline. Use the current cash price and your expected trade-in value. Do not count a trade-in twice—once as an Apple credit and again as a carrier credit.
- Separate immediate value from conditional value. An instant discount is available at purchase. A gift card requires a later Apple purchase. Bill credits depend on continued service and compliance with the promotion.
- Calculate the full carrier cost. Multiply any extra monthly plan cost by the required months, then add activation fees, taxes, and any unpaid device balance that could become due if you leave.
- Read the terms before trading in. Photograph the phone, record its condition and serial number, remove Activation Lock, and keep the shipping receipt until the trade-in is accepted.
- Check the return deadline. Apple’s standard return period is 14 days from receipt. Carrier and retailer purchases follow their own policies.
- Confirm the deal’s identity. The retailer’s page should explicitly identify the offer as a 2026 Black Friday or holiday promotion. An August sale should not be relabeled as Black Friday.
Apple’s standard price-adjustment policy excludes limited-time price reductions and special sales events such as Black Friday. Do not buy early assuming Apple will refund the difference later.

Returning a phone does not necessarily unwind every part of a wireless purchase. If the phone was bought through a carrier, the installment agreement, wireless line, activation charges, or service fees may follow separate rules. Confirm cancellation requirements with the carrier before returning hardware.

A deal that looks like a $75 reward can become a chargeback, a deduction from the refund, or a separate balance issue if the card has already been spent.
For a straightforward purchase, save the promotional terms, order confirmation, trade-in estimate, tracking number, and final bill. These records are especially useful when a monthly credit does not appear after the first or second billing cycle.

FAQ
Are there confirmed Black Friday iPhone deals for 2026?
Not yet. As of August 9, 2026, Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, and the major carriers had not published definitive 2026 Black Friday iPhone prices or promotions. Specific prices circulating before the official event terms are predictions, placeholders, or regular promotions.
What date is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27. Cyber Monday follows on November 30.
Is an Apple Gift Card the same as an iPhone discount?
No. A gift card provides value for a later eligible Apple purchase, while an instant discount reduces the purchase price immediately. Apple Gift Cards are generally usable only in the United States and cannot normally be exchanged for cash or used to buy another gift card.
Does a ‘free iPhone’ from a carrier really cost nothing?
Usually not. The device cost is typically offset by monthly credits that require a qualifying plan, installment agreement, trade-in, activation, and continued service. Leaving early, upgrading, paying off the device, or changing plans can stop the credits and leave you responsible for the remaining balance.
The Bottom Line
There are no verified 2026 Black Friday iPhone deals to buy yet. When promotions appear, compare the guaranteed value of an unlocked or instant-discount purchase with the conditional value of Apple gift cards and carrier bill credits. The cheapest headline price is only a real saving if the required plan, trade-in, fees, and time commitment fit your finances.
