The72 reported on 17 July 2024, citing Wales Online, that Derby County paid Cardiff City an initial £500,000 for Adams in a permanent transfer. The report said add-ons could take the deal toward the £1 million mark. The72’s account also noted that Derby announced the fee as undisclosed.
Was Ebou Adams a £1 million signing?
Not as a confirmed upfront fee. The reported £1 million was a possible total if conditional add-ons were met; the source does not say that they were. It also does not identify the add-on conditions or establish how much Cardiff ultimately received.
What is confirmed about the transfer?
Adams moved permanently from Cardiff City to Derby County in July 2024 after a loan spell at Derby. The transfer followed Derby’s promotion to the Championship in the 2023/24 season. The reported fee figures remain attributed to Wales Online through The72, rather than confirmed contract terms published by either club.
