On August 8, 2025, Datasite announced it was acquiring Sourcescrub from Francisco Partners and planned to integrate Sourcescrub’s data and capabilities into Grata, the private-market intelligence company Datasite had acquired in June. The announcement set out a strategic combination; it did not give a transaction closing date or confirm that every Sourcescrub capability had been fully integrated.

What Datasite announced

Datasite said it was acquiring Sourcescrub from Francisco Partners and intended to bring Sourcescrub’s data and capabilities into Grata. The announcement followed Datasite’s June 3, 2025 acquisition of Grata. Datasite described the two acquisitions as part of a broader effort to connect intelligence, automation, and M&A execution.

In the August announcement, Datasite said Sourcescrub drew on more than 220,000 information sources to provide insight on 16 million companies. Those are company-reported figures from 2025, not independently audited or a statement of current coverage. Datasite said Grata provided visibility into over 19 million private companies at that time, also a release-specific company figure.

Why Sourcescrub was being combined with Grata

The stated rationale was to combine Grata’s private-company discovery platform with Sourcescrub’s deal-sourcing data and workflow. Datasite characterized Sourcescrub’s contribution as human-enriched information, curated lists, integrations, and sourcing signals that could complement Grata’s search and discovery tools.

Grata co-founder Nevin Raj said: “Sourcescrub adds a powerful layer of human-enriched data, curated lists, deep integrations, and a signal-rich sourcing workflow.” Sourcescrub co-founder Prescott Nasser described the intended customer outcome as “a superior user experience, dataset and network for our customers”. These are executives’ descriptions of the planned combination, not independent assessments of its results.

Datasite president and CEO Rusty Wiley said: “AI relies on high quality data and content to be useful.” That statement explains the company’s emphasis on data quality; it is not evidence that the acquisition itself demonstrated improved AI performance.

What each platform was described as contributing

Platform Role described by Datasite Coverage figures in the 2025 announcement
Sourcescrub Deal-sourcing data and workflows, including human-enriched information, curated lists, integrations, and sourcing signals. More than 220,000 information sources and 16 million companies, as described by Datasite in August 2025.
Grata AI-native private-market intelligence and dealmaking, with proprietary search infrastructure and discovery tools. Visibility into over 19 million private companies, as described by Datasite in August 2025.

Datasite had also announced in July 2025 that Grata was expanding into the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia, with coverage spanning companies, deals, financials, contacts, and conferences. That provides context for Grata’s expansion, but does not establish that every Sourcescrub capability was available in each market.

What is known about closing and integration

The August 8, 2025 release establishes that Datasite announced the acquisition and planned to integrate Sourcescrub into Grata. A May 2026 Datasite announcement later listed the Sourcescrub acquisition among Grata’s expansion history. Neither release specifies the transaction’s closing date or provides a detailed milestone confirming complete integration of every product capability.

Datasite’s September 2026 leadership announcement continued to describe a strategy connecting AI, intelligence, and transaction capabilities and named a Chief Revenue Officer for Grata Intelligence. This supports the conclusion that Datasite continued to emphasize the intelligence business; it does not resolve the missing closing or integration details.

How the acquisition fits Datasite’s wider strategy

When Datasite announced its Grata acquisition on June 3, 2025, it also said CapVest Partners, Datasite’s controlling shareholder, intended to commit $500 million to expand Datasite’s intelligence solutions. This was an announced commitment, not confirmation that the full amount had already been spent.

Taken together, Datasite’s announcements position Grata as part of its private-market intelligence business and Sourcescrub as an added source of data and sourcing workflow. The intended model is to help deal teams find and evaluate potential private-company targets; the releases do not quantify resulting customer benefits or establish independent performance gains.
