Why did IFS appoint Roos?
In its announcement, IFS described Roos as the recent president of SAP’s Cloud ERP business and said he had previously grown Software AG’s international operations. IFS framed that background in scaling global software businesses as relevant to its own growth plans; these were the company’s characterizations of his experience.
Roos said he intended to bring experience in “scaling companies, building cloud businesses, and establishing high-performing teams” to IFS. The statement appeared in the March 5 announcement.

What happened after his CEO appointment?
IFS announced on January 9, 2024 that Mark Moffat became CEO and Darren Roos became Chair of the Board, with both appointments effective immediately. In that announcement, IFS reported that overall revenue had more than tripled during Roos’s CEO tenure and that recurring revenue had risen to 79% of total revenue, compared with 36% when he joined.
