Celebrity Net Worth lists Danny Masterson’s net worth at an estimated $4 million, but that figure is not an audited or court-verified balance sheet. The more specific public account of his finances came from a 2023 presentencing report: it described a grape-and-wine farm as his primary income source and acting residuals as secondary, without giving dollar amounts. The available evidence does not show that That ’70s Show royalties alone kept him financially afloat.
What is Danny Masterson’s net worth?
Celebrity Net Worth lists Masterson’s net worth as an estimated $4 million, according to its page accessed in 2026. That is a publisher-generated estimate, not a figure established by a court or an audited financial statement. The page does not establish an audited methodology in the information available here.

The best-documented financial account is more qualified. In September 2023, TheWrap reported details from a presentencing document prepared by an interim probation officer. It described some assets and liabilities but did not provide a net-worth total or income amounts.
What the 2023 report said about his income
According to TheWrap’s account of the presentencing document, Masterson said he had started a farm in 2018 and continued to earn income from it. The report characterized the farm as his primary income source and acting residuals as secondary. It did not say how much either source generated.
#1 Best Overall
The document also reportedly said Masterson could not identify his monthly income without consulting his financial manager and reviewing financial records. That means the available account does not support a reliable monthly-income figure or a calculation of how much residuals contributed.
Reported assets and debts
TheWrap reported that the document listed the ranch and farm, investments, and three vehicles among his assets. Reported liabilities included legal bills, a mortgage, and credit-card debt. Those details are an account of a presentencing document, not an independently audited financial statement.

Did That ’70s Show royalties keep him going?
The evidence supports a narrower claim: acting residuals were listed as a secondary income source. It does not identify a specific payment from That ’70s Show, state a residual amount, or establish that those payments were enough to keep Masterson financially afloat. Calling them the reason his finances held up goes beyond what the report says.
Masterson played Steven Hyde on That ’70s Show, which the Associated Press says ran from 1998 to 2006. That career history helps explain why acting residuals might be part of his income, but it does not reveal what he received from this series or any other work.

His conviction and sentence
A Los Angeles jury convicted Masterson in 2023 of two counts of rape by force or fear concerning 2003 assaults. Jurors did not reach a verdict on a third count. On September 7, 2023, a judge sentenced him to 30 years to life. The Associated Press reported parole eligibility after 25½ years; eligibility does not guarantee release, and the sentence could mean he remains imprisoned for life.

In December 2024, CBS Los Angeles reported on an opening appellate brief and Masterson’s arguments for reversal. In November 2025, the Los Angeles Times reported that he filed a habeas petition alleging failures by his defense and bias by law enforcement. These are defense claims, not findings that undo the convictions. The available reporting does not establish a later ruling on that petition.
