“Legit” is not one question. A service can be a real company and functioning product without being consistently accurate, easy to cancel, privacy-protective, or worth its subscription price.

Its advertised feature set includes AI-generated notes, flashcards, quizzes and practice tests; exam-style questions; voice tutoring; essay grading; audio recaps; explainer videos; visual explanations of diagrams and images; study plans; progress tracking; spaced review; and interactive games. Teacher and institutional offerings describe lesson materials, worksheets, vocabulary lists, quizzes and learning-management-system integrations (Teacher offering; Institution offering; iOS feature listing).
Those are advertised capabilities, not a promise that every tool is included without limits in every plan. Access can depend on subscription, usage caps, platform, region or product changes. Confirm the specific feature and quota in the account or checkout screen before paying.
What happens technically when you upload notes
StudyFetch does not publicly establish the exact technical architecture behind its AI features. A typical system that turns mixed course files into study aids may perform several steps: accept and store a file, extract text or other content, organize it, then pass relevant material to an AI system to generate an answer or learning resource. Scanned pages may require optical character recognition; recordings may require transcription; images, equations and tables may need separate interpretation.
That outline is a way to understand the kinds of processing such a workflow can require, not a verified description of StudyFetch’s internal implementation. Its public pages do not establish which model it uses, whether it uses retrieval-augmented generation, its context-window size, or a benchmarked error rate. The company’s description of a tutor working from uploaded material should not be read as proof that the underlying model is literally retrained on each student’s files.
When testing any document-based tutor, check whether an answer is traceable to the original source and whether it says when the source does not contain an answer. A system may instead blend incomplete notes with general model knowledge, miss a footnote, misread a chart or formula, or merge facts from different uploaded courses. Public documentation cited here does not settle how StudyFetch handles those cases.

Can you rely on its AI for schoolwork?
There is no published accuracy rate or independent benchmark in the available materials that would justify calling StudyFetch’s answers reliably correct. Treat generated notes, explanations and answer keys as drafts to check against the original lecture, textbook or instructor—not as authoritative replacements.
- Summaries: Check that qualifications, exceptions and definitions from the source have not been dropped.
- Quiz answers: Work through the answer yourself and verify it against course materials, especially in subjects where a small error changes the result.
- Questions: A plausible-looking quiz may test word recognition rather than understanding. Distractors can be too obvious or incorrect for the wrong reason.
- Images and technical notation: Verify diagrams, tables, equations, chemical notation and multi-step work directly; extraction or interpretation may be imperfect.
- Long or noisy sources: Check that the relevant chapter or passage was actually included and that a poor transcript has not changed what was said.
Some Trustpilot reviewers report issues with generated quiz design; one reviewer described a chemistry question whose wording made the answer too obvious. That is an anecdotal example of a possible weakness, not a controlled assessment of the product or a measure of how often it occurs (Trustpilot reviews).
AI can reduce the time it takes to create practice material, but producing material is not the same as learning it. Reading an AI summary passively is a weaker use than trying to recall an answer before revealing it, correcting mistakes, revisiting missed concepts, and applying ideas to new examples. Review the cards and questions yourself; remove misleading items rather than memorizing them.
Check your course rules before using generated essays, answers or explanations in submitted work. A study tool may help with practice and tutoring while still being inappropriate for an assignment under a particular instructor’s academic-integrity policy.

Check the final purchase screen for the amount due now, billing interval, renewal price, trial end date if one is offered, and where cancellation must occur.
The available materials do not establish one universal free-trial length, current free-plan quota, upload limit, or the exact number of tutor messages, generated items or audio minutes included. User reviews describe free access as limited or features as paywalled, but those reports are individual experiences rather than a current, controlled account test (App Store reviews; Trustpilot reviews). Before subscribing, try one real study task on the plan you intend to use and confirm that you can access the output you need.
What happens to uploaded material and personal data?
The consumer-versus-enterprise distinction matters. StudyFetch’s consumer Terms of Service state that submitted content may be used to improve and train its AI systems. The terms also state that the service is hosted in the United States and that international users agree to data transfer to and processing in the United States (Consumer Terms of Service). The privacy policy says it applies to individual consumer users and describes collection and processing of personal information based on how people use the service (Privacy Policy).

Before uploading class material
- Remove classmates’ names, student IDs, grades and private feedback where possible.
- Do not upload unreleased exams, confidential research data or material your school or instructor restricts.
- Check course and institutional rules for copyrighted course packs, lecture recordings and generative AI services.
- For sensitive institutional work, use an approved school or enterprise arrangement rather than assuming consumer-account settings are equivalent.

StudyFetch publishes separate support pages for unsubscribing and refund requests. Its refund policy says refunds are not guaranteed and identifies exclusions that include changing one’s mind, forgetting to cancel, using the service partially or fully, and not providing evidence for a claimed service problem. Public user reviews include both positive experiences and complaints about pricing, bugs, renewals and cancellation. Those accounts are not proof of a systematic billing violation, but they make it sensible to keep a clear record of your own subscription (Trustpilot overview; Trustpilot reviews, page 5; Trustpilot reviews, page 6; App Store reviews).
- Read the linked unsubscribe instructions and cancel before the renewal date.
- Save screenshots of the cancellation confirmation and retain any confirmation email or support-ticket number.
- Check the payment method after cancellation to confirm whether another charge appears.
- If you subscribed through Apple, Google or another marketplace, check whether cancellation must be handled through that marketplace. Deleting the app alone should not be treated as proof of cancellation.
- If requesting a refund, submit it promptly with the account email, dates, receipt and supporting screenshots. The policy does not promise approval.
What do reviews and business listings tell you?
