Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Price: The Big Surprise Is a Limited-Time Discount

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE has had a reported $100 no-trade-in discount, but it is not a permanent price cut. Here’s how to check the deal and compare the phone’s value.

The Galaxy S25 FE launched in the US at $649.99 for 128GB, but Samsung has also offered a limited-time $100 discount that brought the phone to about $549 without a trade-in. The 256GB version’s regular price is $709.99; if the same discount applies, it would be about $609. The catch: that promotion may have ended. Check Samsung’s live checkout price before treating either figure as available.

Galaxy S25 FE prices: list price, launch offer and reported sale

These are three different pricing events, not one permanent price. Samsung’s US launch was September 4, 2025. The regular prices below are listed on Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet; the sale prices come from a SamMobile report dated May 25, 2026.

Configuration or offer Price or value What it means
128GB regular US MSRP $649.99 Samsung’s listed price; check the live product page for current pricing.
256GB regular US MSRP $709.99 $60 more than the 128GB model at list price.
Reported 128GB promotion About $549 SamMobile reported a $100 direct discount without a trade-in. It was limited-time.
Reported 256GB promotion About $609, if the same $100 discount applies This is an estimate based on the $709.99 MSRP and reported discount, not a confirmed current checkout price.
US launch storage offer 256GB for the 128GB price Tech Advisor reported that the launch offer effectively waived the usual $60 storage premium; it was not a permanent reduction in the 256GB MSRP.

The starting price matched the Galaxy S24 FE’s US launch price. The surprise was that Samsung initially paired that familiar entry price with a 256GB storage offer, then later reportedly cut both configurations by $100. Samsung’s official MSRP sheet still lists $649.99 and $709.99, and its product page has shown the regular price. Treat $549 and $609 as past promotional figures unless they appear in your checkout.

What you get for the money

The S25 FE is a large-screen Samsung phone with several features associated with the company’s flagship line, rather than a stripped-down basic handset. Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, an Exynos 2400 processor, 8GB of RAM, and US storage options of 128GB and 256GB.

  • Cameras: 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, 12MP ultrawide, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and 12MP front camera.
  • Battery and charging: 4,900mAh battery, 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Wireless PowerShare is also supported.
  • Software and extras: It launched with One UI 8 based on Android 16. Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch. The phone also supports Samsung DeX.

Those features make the phone especially appealing if you want a telephoto camera, wireless charging or DeX without paying the regular Galaxy S25 price. Samsung does not include a charger in the box, so factor in a compatible USB-C charger if you do not already own one.

The trade-offs: battery, performance and size

A lower price does not make the S25 FE equivalent to the standard Galaxy S25. Its Exynos 2400 provides capable performance, but review testing does not establish a clear performance improvement over the S24 FE in every measure. Tom’s Guide reported a lower Geekbench 6 single-core result than the S24 FE. The larger vapor chamber is intended to help manage heat during gaming, but buyers focused on demanding games or sustained performance should compare the standard S25 as well.

Battery capacity rose from 4,700mAh in the S24 FE to 4,900mAh in the S25 FE, but capacity alone does not determine endurance. In Tom’s Guide’s battery-drain test, the S25 FE lasted 9 hours 46 minutes, versus 11 hours 38 minutes for the S24 FE. That is one publication’s test result, not a prediction of every owner’s day; screen brightness, signal strength, workload and settings affect real use.

The 6.7-inch screen is a benefit if you want room for video, games and multitasking, but it makes the FE substantially larger than the compact Galaxy S25. The phone’s value is strongest when you want the large display and extras; at full MSRP, its performance and battery compromises deserve more weight.

Galaxy S25 FE vs. Galaxy S25: which is the better buy?

Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet lists the regular Galaxy S25 at $799.99 for 128GB and $859.99 for 256GB. At standard prices, the FE starts $150 lower than the 128GB S25. The right choice depends on whether the bigger screen and lower price matter more than compact size and higher-tier performance.

Priority Better fit
Lower standard price with a large screen Galaxy S25 FE
Compact phone Galaxy S25
Higher performance and efficiency Galaxy S25
Largest screen below $700 at regular FE pricing Galaxy S25 FE
DeX at the lower new-phone price Galaxy S25 FE
Heavy gaming or demanding multitasking Galaxy S25, if its final price works for you

These are list-price comparisons; a promotion or trade-in can change the gap. Compare the amount you would actually pay, not just a carrier’s monthly figure or a headline discount.

Galaxy S25 FE vs. Galaxy A57: when the price overlap matters

SamMobile reported the temporary S25 FE discount put it in the same price range as Samsung’s Galaxy A57. At that sale price, the FE’s Exynos 2400 processor, telephoto camera, wireless charging and DeX support make it an unusually feature-rich alternative for the money. That is a value argument, not proof that it is better for every buyer: the two models serve different priorities, and the price overlap depends on a limited-time promotion.

If the FE returns to its regular price and the A57 is substantially cheaper, the A57 may make more sense for routine daily use if you do not need the FE’s telephoto camera, DeX or wireless charging. Compare current prices and the features you will actually use rather than assuming the FE wins because it belongs to the S series.

Trade-in and carrier offers: compare the final cost

Samsung’s offers page advertises up to $580+ in instant trade-in credit for the S25 FE. “Up to” is a maximum, not a guaranteed discount: the amount depends on the eligible device and its condition. Samsung’s trade-in terms require the old phone to meet conditions such as powering on, having a functioning display, being free of disqualifying damage and blacklist status, and having personal data and software locks removed. Samsung generally requires shipment within 15 days of receiving the new purchase; failing the terms can result in the anticipated credit being charged back.

A carrier’s “free” or low-monthly-cost headline is a different offer. It may depend on financing, a new line, an eligible plan, activation charges and continued eligibility for bill credits. Taxes and fees may be separate, and leaving the carrier before all credits are applied can reduce the value. Samsung’s purchase page has also shown carrier-specific routes, including T-Mobile financing, rather than only an unlocked cash price. Read the terms and compare the total cost of the required service over the credit period against buying unlocked.

  1. Check the unlocked phone price and selected storage on Samsung’s purchase page.
  2. Confirm whether the direct discount or storage promotion appears in the checkout total, not just in a banner or offer description.
  3. If trading in, check the offer for your exact old-phone model and condition, then review the shipping deadline and chargeback terms.
  4. For a carrier offer, add required plan costs, activation charges, taxes and any financing obligations; do not treat monthly bill credits as an unconditional reduction in the phone price.

Samsung’s offer details can change, and device, color and storage availability may vary by retailer and purchase route. Check the terms presented at checkout. Sources: Samsung’s offers page and Samsung’s S25 FE purchase page.

Who should buy the Galaxy S25 FE?

  • Buy it if: the live price is near $549 for 128GB or about $609 for 256GB; you want a large, smooth AMOLED screen, telephoto camera, wireless charging or DeX; and you value Samsung’s long software-support commitment.
  • Compare the Galaxy S25 if: the sale narrows the price gap, you want a smaller phone, or performance and efficiency matter more than screen size and lower cost.
  • Compare the Galaxy A57 if: the FE is at full price, the A57 is substantially cheaper, and you do not need the FE’s distinctive extras.
  • Look beyond the FE if: maximum battery endurance or a compact flagship is your priority. Compare the Pixel 10 or iPhone 16e on camera processing, display, software support, ecosystem and the actual offer available to you; reviews have not established a universal winner across those differences.

For a buyer who wants Samsung’s larger-screen features, the reported discount makes the S25 FE much easier to recommend—especially the 256GB version near $609. At the regular $649.99 and $709.99 prices, weigh the S25’s compact size and performance, the A57’s current price and any genuine carrier or trade-in savings before buying.
