Amazon’s reported $250 discounts on M4 MacBook Airs were real, but they were Black Friday offers from November 2025—not a current deal. The lowest reported price was $749 for the 13-inch model with 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage. “Every” referred to the configurations Amazon carried, not every possible Apple build-to-order model.
What Amazon charged during Black Friday 2025
Macworld reported the offer on November 17, 2025, and 9to5Mac also covered discounts on Amazon-stocked 13-inch and 15-inch models. The prices below are a historical U.S. snapshot, not current quotes. The cited coverage compared them with Apple’s U.S. list prices at the time.

Macworld’s November 17 deal report and 9to5Mac’s November 24 coverage support these figures. The price snapshots were not consistent throughout the sale: 9to5Mac showed different prices at different points, including some listings with a $200 reduction. Tom’s Guide later reported a $738 Cyber Monday price for the base model, so $749 should not be described as the lowest price ever.
Was $749 a good price?
Against the 13-inch M4’s $999 U.S. starting price, $749 was a $250 reduction—about 25% off. That made it a notable price for a new MacBook Air with 16GB of unified memory. Apple’s M4 launch announcement listed U.S. starting prices of $999 for the 13-inch model and $1,199 for the 15-inch model.

The value depended on the exact listing and the buyer’s needs. A low headline price is not enough: check the final checkout total, condition, seller, shipping, return terms, and warranty before buying. Those details can vary by listing and are not established by the historical deal reports.
What “every M4 MacBook Air” meant
The promotion covered the configurations Amazon carried at the time, not every combination Apple could build to order. The reported tables listed selected 256GB and 512GB storage models in both sizes. They do not establish that 1TB or 2TB models, every graphics configuration, every color, or all other custom configurations received the same discount.
Apple’s specifications say the M4 Air started with 16GB of unified memory, configurable to 24GB or 32GB, and 256GB of SSD storage, configurable up to 2TB. The exact options differ by model; see Apple’s 13-inch M4 specifications and 15-inch M4 specifications.
What the M4 Air offers
The 2025 M4 MacBook Air pairs Apple’s M4 chip with a 13.6-inch or 15.3-inch display, a 12MP Center Stage camera, two Thunderbolt 4/USB-C ports, and MagSafe 3 charging. Apple rates video-streaming battery life at up to 18 hours under its controlled test conditions; real runtime varies with configuration, brightness, apps, wireless activity, and workload. Apple also specifies support for up to two external displays in addition to the built-in display, subject to its configuration details.

The Air is fanless and designed around portability. For sustained heavy rendering, large-scale video work, or a need for more ports and active cooling, compare it with a MacBook Pro rather than assuming the Air is the right tool for every demanding workload.
Choose the 13-inch or 15-inch model
13-inch: prioritize portability and price
The 13-inch model is the better fit if you carry your laptop often, want the lowest entry price, or have enough room on a 13.6-inch display for school, office work, browsing, and streaming. Its battery is 53.8Wh, according to Apple’s specifications.
15-inch: prioritize workspace
The 15-inch model’s 15.3-inch screen gives more room for split-screen work, spreadsheets, long documents, or editing timelines without relying on an external monitor. It costs more and takes up more space; Apple lists its battery at 66.5Wh. Both sizes use the M4 platform, but choose based on screen area and portability rather than assuming the larger model is automatically faster for your work.
Decide how much memory and storage you need
256GB storage
The base SSD can suit web use, documents, streaming, cloud files, and a modest collection of locally installed apps. It is a tighter fit if you keep large photo or video libraries, games, development tools, or downloaded media on the laptop.

512GB storage
For longer ownership or larger local files, 512GB offers more room before you need to manage storage or rely on external drives. The historical deal table included 512GB options, but not every storage configuration Apple offered.
16GB, 24GB, or 32GB memory
Memory and storage solve different problems. More unified memory can help with heavy multitasking, virtual machines, development, and large creative projects; it does not increase SSD capacity. For ordinary browsing and office work, 16GB may be sufficient. Apple offered 24GB and 32GB options, but the reported Amazon promotion listed 24GB models only in the configurations shown above.

As of August 2026, the November 2025 offer has expired and its prices are not verified current offers. Apple announced the M5 MacBook Air as available in March 2026, making the M4 a previous-generation model. See Apple’s availability announcement.
An M4 may still make sense if a current listing is substantially cheaper than an equivalent M5 and the older generation meets your needs. Compare the exact size, memory, and storage—not just the chip name—and make sure the price gap is large enough to matter after any protection or accessory costs. No current M4 or M5 price is established here, so check the live listing and Apple’s MacBook Air lineup before deciding.

Checks to make before checkout
- Confirm the exact size, chip, memory, storage, color, and condition; distinguish a new laptop from renewed, used, or warehouse stock.
- Check who sells and ships the item, its final checkout price, delivery estimate, return terms, and warranty status. A deal report does not establish the seller on a live listing.
- Compare the M4 price with the current M5 equivalent and decide whether the savings justify choosing the previous generation.
- Account for what is not included in the laptop price. Apple lists a power adapter and MagSafe cable in the box; docks, external displays, additional chargers, storage drives, and AppleCare+ are separate purchases. See the 15-inch specifications for in-box details.
