Status: expired. A January 2, 2024 report described a Google Store Italy price promotion with €100 off Pixel 8 models and €150 off Pixel 8 Pro models. The prices below are historical reported prices, not current offers; the original promotion terms are no longer available for direct verification.
Reported prices and savings
The January 2, 2024 report listed these Google Store Italy prices. The discount was a reduction in the reported purchase price, not a trade-in bonus or Store credit.
| Model | Reported original price | Reported promotional price | Reported saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pixel 8, 128GB | €799 | €699 | €100 |
| Pixel 8, 256GB | €859 | €759 | €100 |
| Pixel 8 Pro, 128GB | €1,099 | €949 | €150 |

| Pixel 8 Pro, 512GB | €1,299 | €1,149 | €150 |
These amounts and configurations come from a contemporary report published January 2, 2024, rather than an archived Google promotion page. Treat them as reported prices, not independently verified official terms.

Because the original promotion pages are no longer available for direct verification, these should be read as the configurations reported at the time, not a guarantee that every color or unit was in stock throughout the offer.
€150 off was different from the later Mint credit offer
Google announced a separate promotion on January 25, 2024, tied to Mint-colored phones: €100 in Google Store credit with a Pixel 8 Mint and €150 in credit with a Pixel 8 Pro Mint. Google said that offer lasted 14 days. Credit is not the same as money taken off the phone price at checkout; Google’s Store-credit guidance says promotional credit may be issued after the applicable return period. The official announcement is Google’s January 25, 2024 post.

How the discount compared with Italian launch prices
Google announced Italian starting prices of €799 for Pixel 8 and €1,099 for Pixel 8 Pro on October 4, 2023, with sales beginning October 12. Those starting prices correspond to the 128GB models in the reported table. At €699, the Pixel 8 128GB was about 12.5% below its €799 launch price; at €949, the Pixel 8 Pro 128GB was about 13.6% below its €1,099 launch price. Google’s Italian launch announcement also named Google Store, Amazon, Unieuro and Vodafone as sales channels. The January deal report, however, described a Google Store Italy promotion; it does not establish that other retailers matched it.
What distinguished Pixel 8 from Pixel 8 Pro?
Google’s launch materials described a 6.2-inch Actua display on Pixel 8 and a 6.7-inch Super Actua display on Pixel 8 Pro; both use Tensor G3. The Pro adds a temperature sensor and a more advanced camera package, while the standard model costs less and is more compact. Google’s Pixel specifications provide the model details. Circle to Search began rolling out to Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on January 31, 2024, according to Google’s announcement.

Is a Pixel 8 or 8 Pro still worth considering?
The historical discount is not a reason to pay those amounts now: it ended, and current prices or stock for older devices must be checked separately. For a used, refurbished or clearance unit, evaluate the actual condition, seller, warranty, return terms and price against newer phones available to you. In particular, verify whether a low price is for a new device or a renewed/used listing, and whether the seller is responsible for warranty service.
Software support and ownership horizon
Google’s current policy says Pixel 8 and later receive seven years of operating-system, security and Pixel Drop updates, counted from the device’s introduction on the Google Store in the United States. See Google’s Pixel update policy. That support commitment can make a discounted or refurbished Pixel 8 more viable for longer ownership, but it does not establish a current market price or make an older model automatically better value than a newer one.

Storage and model choice
- Pixel 8: Consider it if lower total cost and a smaller phone matter more than the Pro camera and larger screen. The reported 128GB promotional price was €250 below the Pixel 8 Pro 128GB price.
- Pixel 8 Pro: The reported €150 reduction applied across its listed storage tiers, including 256GB and 512GB. Higher storage may be useful for extensive video recording or large offline media libraries; the 512GB color was reported as Obsidian only.
- Either model: Check the precise condition and storage before comparing listings. A historical promotion does not establish that current clearance stock is similarly priced.
Where Italian buyers can check availability
Google’s current Google Store Italy offers page is the place to check current Google promotions; it is not evidence that the January 2024 Pixel deal remains active. Buyers can also check Amazon Italy, Unieuro and Vodafone Italy for independently listed stock and prices. The January 2024 prices should not be treated as current retailer offers. For Google Store orders, the shipping address must be in the same region as the relevant Store site, and stock notifications do not guarantee availability or a previous price; see Google’s regional availability guidance. When comparing a carrier deal, include plan charges, contract length and fees rather than judging the handset price alone.
