The $899.99 Surface Pro offer was reported on June 25, 2025, as an early Prime Day deal—not a current price. It covered a 13-inch Surface Pro 11th Edition with a 10-core Snapdragon X Plus chip, 16GB of memory, and a 512GB SSD. In a Microsoft Store listing checked August 16, 2026, that configuration was priced at $1,499.99. The keyboard was not necessarily included, so the tablet’s price was not automatically the cost of a laptop-ready setup.
What the $899.99 deal actually was
The June 25, 2025 article reported that Amazon was offering the Surface Pro for $899.99, describing it as $300 off and an early Prime Day price ahead of the July 8, 2025 event. The deal coverage named the Sapphire finish and the 10-core Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage configuration. The original deal report is evidence of a historical advertised price, not proof that the same offer remains available.
As of August 16, 2026, Microsoft’s Store listing showed $1,499.99 for the 13-inch 11th Edition with Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. Retailer prices and stock can vary, but the old $899.99 figure should not be treated as a live deal without a current listing confirming the exact configuration, seller, condition, and included accessories. Microsoft’s configuration page is the place to check the model currently offered.
Which Surface Pro configuration was it?
This was the 2024 Surface Pro, 13-inch, 11th Edition—not the newer 12th Edition. The deal described the Wi-Fi model in Sapphire with an LCD touchscreen. Microsoft’s specifications identify the Snapdragon X Plus as a 10-core processor and list 16GB LPDDR5x memory, a 512GB SSD, Qualcomm Adreno integrated graphics, and a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated at 45 TOPS. The device runs Windows 11 Home, has two USB-C/USB4 ports plus Surface Connect, and weighs about 1.97 pounds (895 grams) without accessories. See Microsoft’s 11th Edition specifications.

Do not confuse it with the higher-end 11th Edition configuration: Microsoft pairs the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite models with OLED, while the 10-core X Plus configuration uses LCD. A listing that combines the deal’s X Plus specification with OLED may be mixing configurations. Verify the screen type on the exact listing. Microsoft’s product configuration page shows the available combinations.
What makes the hardware appealing—and what Copilot+ means
The configuration has a practical productivity mix: 16GB RAM is more suitable for multitasking than an entry-level 8GB setup, and 512GB of storage gives room for documents, apps, and offline files. The 13-inch 3:2 touchscreen, built-in kickstand, and detachable design suit reading, note-taking, presentations, and travel. The tablet itself is light, though a keyboard adds both weight and cost.
Microsoft classifies the 11th Edition as a Copilot+ PC, supported by the Snapdragon platform’s 45-TOPS NPU. That label indicates hardware capable of supporting compatible on-device AI features; it does not guarantee that every Copilot+ feature is available in every country, language, Windows version, or configuration. Microsoft says some features require at least 16GB RAM and individual features can have other requirements. Copilot+ features built into Windows are also distinct from paid Microsoft 365 Copilot services. See Microsoft’s Surface Pro page for current product and feature information.

The Surface Pro is a tablet computer that becomes a conventional laptop when you attach a keyboard. Microsoft lists compatible keyboards as separate accessories; the original deal report does not establish whether its Amazon listing included one. Nor does it confirm whether a pen was bundled. Do not assume either accessory is in the box unless the live listing says so. Microsoft identifies the keyboard as sold separately on its product configuration pages. Check the keyboard and bundle details before ordering.

- Tablet-only cost: the price of the exact Surface Pro configuration.
- Laptop-ready cost: tablet price plus a compatible keyboard.
- Optional additions: pen, hub or dock, protection plan, and any other accessories you actually need.
Microsoft lists 13-inch keyboard options for this generation, including the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard. Do not assume an older Surface keyboard will fit; confirm compatibility for the specific 13-inch 11th Edition. A conventional laptop may be a better financial fit if you want a rigid, permanently attached keyboard and do not need tablet mode.
Check Windows-on-Arm compatibility before buying
Snapdragon processors use Arm architecture. Windows-on-Arm support has expanded, but a buyer should confirm that essential applications and peripherals work on this device rather than assume that every Windows program or driver will behave identically. Check the software developer’s system requirements and Microsoft’s compatibility guidance before relying on it for work.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Verify specialist enterprise applications, older utilities, device-management tools, and virtualization software.
- Check professional plug-ins, engineering tools, and workflows that depend on particular hardware or drivers.
- Confirm that printers, scanners, docks, and other peripherals have compatible drivers.
- For games, check both the game’s compatibility and any anti-cheat requirements.
If a required application or peripheral has no supported Arm-compatible version or driver, the 11th Edition may not be a safe replacement for your current PC.

Ports, battery claims, and upgrade considerations
The 11th Edition has two USB-C/USB4 ports and a Surface Connect port. It has no built-in USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet, or SD-card slot, so connecting those may require a hub or dock. That adds cost and another item to carry.
Microsoft’s product materials give “up to” figures of 14 hours for local video playback and 10 hours for active web use on the 13-inch 11th Edition. These are manufacturer test results, not guaranteed runtimes; brightness, network conditions, applications, workload, and Windows settings affect actual battery life. Microsoft’s specifications page provides the test claims.
Memory is not user-upgradable, so choose a configuration that suits the device’s expected life. Check the exact storage and service options before purchase rather than counting on an easy upgrade later.

Compare the 11th Edition with the newer Surface Pro
Microsoft’s current Surface Pro page lists a 13-inch 12th Edition starting at $1,199.99, with Snapdragon X2 Plus 10-core or X2 Elite 12-core processor options. That starting price is not a like-for-like comparison with the 11th Edition deal: display, memory, storage, and accessories can differ by configuration. Compare the complete specifications and keyboard-inclusive total for the units actually available. See Microsoft’s current Surface Pro lineup.
The older model can still make sense if it is substantially discounted and your software works on Arm. But compare its actual price plus a compatible keyboard against the newer model’s equivalent setup. A smaller tablet-only discount may not be compelling if the newer generation is close in total cost or better matches your expected ownership period.
Who should consider this model—and who should skip it?
It may suit you if
- You want a light Windows tablet that can serve as a laptop with an added keyboard.
- Your everyday work is browser-based or uses applications confirmed to support Windows on Arm.
- You value touchscreen input, a kickstand, and optional pen use for notes or presentations.
- You can buy the exact 16GB/512GB model at a meaningful discount, including the accessories you need.
Look elsewhere if
- You need legacy software, specialist drivers, heavy virtualization, or peripherals that are not confirmed to work.
- You need a dedicated GPU for demanding 3D work, modern AAA gaming, or CUDA-dependent workflows.
- You rely on built-in USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet, or SD, and do not want adapters.
- You want a complete laptop in the box or prefer a permanently attached keyboard.
Verify the listing before you pay
Retail pages can change configuration or seller while keeping similar promotional wording. Before checkout, make sure the page identifies all of the following:
- Snapdragon X Plus, 10-core processor.
- 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.
- 13-inch LCD model, not a different display and processor combination.
- Wi-Fi configuration, if that is the model you intend to buy.
- Whether the keyboard and pen are included or sold separately.
- Seller, return policy, and whether the device is new or refurbished.
Price context: $899.99 was reported for the deal on June 25, 2025. Microsoft’s listing showed $1,499.99 for the corresponding 11th Edition configuration on August 16, 2026. Confirm the current retailer price and the contents of the box before treating any listing as a deal.
