ArmorCode announced a $40 million preemptive Series B on December 4, 2023, led by HighlandX, bringing its reported total funding to $65 million. The company’s pitch was not that one product would replace every security scanner: it was that enterprises could bring findings from many tools into a common system for prioritization and remediation. ArmorCode later announced another $16 million in strategic funding on March 3, 2026, and broadened its positioning to unified exposure management.

What happened in the 2023 funding round?

ArmorCode said the $40 million round was led by HighlandX, with NGP Capital, Ballistic Ventures, Sierra Ventures, and Cervin Ventures participating. HighlandX Managing Partner Corey Mulloy joined the company’s board. ArmorCode reported that the financing brought total funding to $65 million. Business Wire’s financing announcement and O’Melveny’s transaction notice confirm the round details.

The company said its annual recurring revenue had grown by more than 400% year over year and reported 130% net revenue retention. These are company-provided figures, not independently audited performance measures. TechCrunch reported that ArmorCode had approximately 110 employees at the time and planned to increase its workforce by about 20%; the hiring figure was a forward-looking plan. TechCrunch’s coverage describes the company’s growth claims and staffing plans.

What problem is ArmorCode designed to solve?

Enterprises often use separate products to test application code, inspect software dependencies, scan containers and infrastructure, assess cloud configurations, find exposed secrets, and manage vulnerabilities. Each tool can produce findings in its own format, with its own severity scale, asset identifiers, and assumptions about who should fix the issue.

That fragmentation creates practical work: security staff must compare overlapping alerts, determine whether they refer to the same underlying risk, identify the affected application or team, and get the remediation into a workflow developers or infrastructure teams already use. ArmorCode’s product proposition is to ingest findings from connected tools, normalize and deduplicate them, add context for prioritization, and coordinate the resulting work. The company described the platform as combining application security posture management (ASPM), risk-based vulnerability management, supply-chain security, and workflow orchestration. ArmorCode’s 2023 announcement and NGP Capital’s investment rationale explain that positioning.

How a shared workflow might work

As an illustrative example, several scanners could flag the same application or dependency. A central platform can attempt to correlate those records, help teams judge which issue deserves attention first, map it to an owner, and send work to a ticketing or development system. The value depends on the accuracy and freshness of the connected data, not simply on displaying it in one dashboard.

Consolidating data is not the same as replacing tools

Type of consolidation What it means ArmorCode’s stated role
Data Bringing findings from multiple security products into one view. Core part of the platform’s aggregation proposition.
Workflow Coordinating prioritization, ownership, tickets, and remediation status. Part of its orchestration proposition.
Vendor Replacing multiple scanners or security products with one provider. Not established as the outcome of the 2023 round or product claim.

ArmorCode has emphasized working with existing tools rather than requiring customers to adopt a single vendor’s scanners. Its later company messaging says the platform can operate without replacing existing tools or forcing vendor consolidation. That makes it more accurate to understand ArmorCode as an aggregation and orchestration layer than as a universal scanner replacement. ArmorCode’s 2026 announcement makes that distinction explicit.

What ArmorCode said the funding would support

The company said it would use the capital for go-to-market expansion, product and engineering hiring, European growth, partnerships, and new capabilities in areas including AI and software-supply-chain security. The financing announcement also described plans to grow the workforce by more than 20%. Those plans describe intended use, not proof that each initiative was completed or funded exclusively by this round. The financing release sets out the stated priorities.

Why investors saw an opportunity

The investment case reflected a broader enterprise problem: security teams were accumulating tools and findings while software delivery accelerated, and application and infrastructure risks were often handled in separate processes. A platform that links technical findings to business context, accountable owners, and remediation work could help organizations use their existing scanners more coherently. ArmorCode and its investors emphasized enterprise use, integration breadth, and growth, but financing and company-reported metrics do not by themselves establish that the platform detects more issues, prioritizes better, reduces remediation time, or lowers total security costs.

ArmorCode’s 2023 materials cited more than 200 security-tool integrations. That count should not be treated as a measure of how well every connector works. Buyers need to check whether a specific integration preserves evidence and severity, supports deduplication and ownership mapping, synchronizes remediation status, and remains maintained as source products change.

What changed by 2026?

On March 3, 2026, ArmorCode announced an additional $16 million in strategic funding and reported cumulative funding of $81 million. Its product positioning had expanded from the 2023 emphasis on ASPM and vulnerability management to “unified exposure management,” including Application Security Posture Management, Vulnerability Management, Software Supply Chain Security, and AI Exposure Management. The company’s 2026 announcement also reported that its platform processes more than 200 billion findings annually and has hundreds of native integrations; these are company claims, not independently verified benchmarks. ArmorCode’s March 2026 funding announcement describes the funding and current categories.

ArmorCode describes AI Exposure Management as providing visibility and governance for AI applications, agents, MCP servers, and shadow AI. This is a later product direction, not a capability that should be read back into the 2023 Series B announcement. The company’s AI Exposure Management announcement outlines that positioning.

What enterprise buyers should verify

A shared exposure view is useful only if its underlying records, risk judgments, and workflows are dependable. Before evaluating a platform in this category, security and procurement teams should test:

  • BUILT TO LAST: Made from tough, waterproof, and crush-resistant materials. Manufactured in Sweden and programmed in the USA with the highest security standards.
  • Integration coverage: Confirm support for the scanners, cloud providers, repositories, ticketing tools, CMDB, identity systems, and internal tools actually in use. Ask whether connectors are bidirectional and what data they preserve.
  • Normalization and deduplication: Test whether records from different scanners are correlated correctly without merging materially distinct issues or hiding scanner-specific evidence.
  • Prioritization: Ask how exploitability, asset criticality, exposure, business context, and compensating controls affect risk scores, and whether a score can be traced to its inputs.
  • Ownership and workflow: Verify that findings map to the right application, repository, cloud account, or team, and that ticket creation and status changes synchronize without generating duplicate or stale tasks.
  • Freshness and history: Check ingestion frequency, handling of stale or deleted findings, rescan behavior, evidence retention, and audit exports.
  • Security and deployment: Review SaaS architecture, regional hosting and data residency, SSO, role-based access controls, encryption, retention, and tenant isolation.
  • Cost and implementation: Determine how the quote scales—such as by applications, assets, findings, users, integrations, or platform commitment—and account for connector setup and ongoing administration.
  • Portability: Establish data ownership, API and export options, and a continuity plan if the organization changes platforms.

Where consolidation can fall short

Aggregation does not create detection coverage that connected scanners lack. A central system can also become a new operational dependency: broken ingestion, incomplete asset ownership, or incorrect state mapping may leave teams with a misleading view. Risk scores that cannot be explained can weaken engineering trust, and dashboards do not fix incentives or unclear remediation responsibility.

Fit depends on the organization. A small team with few scanners may find the implementation burden greater than the reduction in console switching. Regulated organizations may prioritize data residency, evidence retention, and audit exports. Companies integrating systems through mergers may benefit from a common layer across inherited tools, while cloud-native teams should specifically validate support for containers, infrastructure as code, cloud identity, and short-lived assets. AI-heavy organizations should evaluate AI exposure features separately from traditional application-security and vulnerability workflows.
