There is no official Intuit download containing every QuickBooks Desktop version. Intuit provides a year-and-product selector, while registered customers can retrieve eligible installers through their Intuit account. An offline installer lets you download the program file in advance, but it does not guarantee that an old product can be activated, registered, updated, or connected to payroll and banking services.
For a legitimate installation, use Intuit’s official download pages or your Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs). Avoid third-party sites offering “all versions” or unusually cheap licenses.
What QuickBooks Desktop installers are officially available?
Intuit’s Downloads & Updates page is not an unrestricted archive. Select a country, product, and year, then search for the installer. Results depend on the product and, in some cases, the Intuit account associated with it.
For products registered to your account, CAMPs is usually the better route:

- Go to CAMPs and sign in.
- Open Products & Services.
- Find the QuickBooks Desktop product.
- Select Details.
- Select Download.
CAMPs may also show the edition and year, license and product numbers, and other products linked to the account. If the product is missing, sign out, return to CAMPs, and choose Claim Account rather than signing in again. This can help locate or merge another registered account.
Current U.S. QuickBooks Desktop versions
For U.S. customers, QuickBooks Desktop 2024 is the latest annual Desktop release. Intuit has moved away from the old annual-release pattern toward more frequent updates. The releases listed in Intuit’s current guidance include:

Intuit stopped selling new U.S. subscriptions for Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, and Enhanced Payroll after September 30, 2024. Existing subscribers may continue renewing under their subscription terms. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise was not included in that restriction and remains available for purchase.
How to download a Windows offline installer
For Pro, Premier, and Enterprise, use the official Downloads & Updates page:
- Choose the correct Country.
- Choose the Product.
- Choose the Version (Year).
- Select Search.
- Select Download.
The Windows file is normally named QuickBooks.exe. Keep your matching license and product numbers available. You may find them in the Intuit purchase email, CAMPs, original packaging, or Intuit’s License Lookup Tool.
Downloading the file first lets you install the program later without downloading the main installer again. It does not make QuickBooks completely independent of the Internet. Activation, registration, payroll, banking, payments, and other connected features may still need an Internet connection.

Accountant and ProAdvisor downloads
Accountants and accounting firms may have different download entitlements:
- ProAdvisors: sign in to the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Center.
- Accountants: sign in to CAMPs.
- PAP software-bundle users: in CAMPs, open Products and Services, expand the product details, select PAP Enterprise Software Bundle, choose Details, select Show More, and choose Intuit QuickBooks Desktop Accountant Plus subscription current version.
QuickBooks Desktop trial downloads
Intuit’s Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop page currently covers QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 and QuickBooks Desktop for Mac Plus 2024. The trial is intended for a 30-day evaluation or a way to move data to QuickBooks Online. It opens without codes, and Intuit warns users not to register the trial; attempting to register it can lock you out. It is not a permanent free installer for every Mac, Pro, Premier, Enterprise, or historical release.

Express installation
Use Express install when installing one version on one computer:
- Open QuickBooks.exe.
- Select Express install.
- Select Next.
- Select Install.
- When installation finishes, select Open QuickBooks.
Express install saves preferences and installs over the previous QuickBooks version. Do not use it if you need to preserve separate installations.
Custom and Network Options
Use the custom route for a server, workstation, multi-user setup, or multiple Desktop years:
- Open QuickBooks.exe.
- Select Custom and Network Options.
- Select Next.
- Choose the appropriate option:
- I’ll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer
- I’ll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer AND I’ll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network
- I will NOT be using QuickBooks on this computer. I will be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network
- Select Next.
- To change the destination, select Change the install location, then Browse.
- Select Next to begin installation.
- Select Open QuickBooks when installation completes.
Installing multiple QuickBooks years or editions
QuickBooks allows multiple years and editions on one computer, but the combinations are not unlimited.

For each installation, select Custom and Network Options, choose Change the install location, and create a separate folder such as QuickBooksPro2020. Do not let the installer replace an existing version unless that is intentional.
Opening a company file in a newer year or higher edition upgrades that file. It cannot then be opened in the original version or edition. Make a backup before testing a file in a newer installation.
If multiple editions from the same year are installed, automatic updating may not update every edition. Update each edition manually or use the specific update download for that edition.
Update QuickBooks after installation
An update changes the release of an installed year. It is not the same as installing a newer year.

- Open QuickBooks Desktop.
- Go to Help.
- Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- For automatic updates, open Options, select Yes, and select Close.
- For an immediate update, open Update Now and select Get Updates.
- Restart QuickBooks after the download completes.
- When prompted, select Install Now.
Manually download an update
- Close QuickBooks Desktop.
- Open the official Downloads & Updates page.
- Select Standard setup.
- Choose the country, product, and year.
- Select Search.
- Select Get the latest updates.
- Open the downloaded update file.
- Restart the computer after installation.
Activation and old-version restrictions
After installing Windows Desktop, activate it through:
- Open QuickBooks.
- Go to Help.
- Select Activate QuickBooks Desktop.
- Complete the on-screen verification.
Activation problems can occur when the license and product numbers do not match the installed edition, the installer is for the wrong year or edition, the subscription has expired, or you are signed in to a different Intuit account. A discontinued product that was never registered may also be impossible to activate. Error 3371 or other validation errors can indicate a damaged entitlement file; Intuit’s current Tool Hub path is QuickBooks Tool Hub → Installation Issues → 3371 Error Fix → OK. If QuickBooks says it “needs a subscription,” likely causes include an unsupported Desktop version or an expired subscription.

For discontinued products, first-time registration is unavailable. Re-registration is permitted only when the product was previously registered and is being reinstalled. Assisted support is no longer available, although Intuit says users may contact support for a validation code. Discontinued versions lose integrated services and critical security updates.
QuickBooks Desktop 2023 products—including Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, Enterprise Solutions 23.0, Premier Accountant Edition Plus, and Enterprise Accountant—were discontinued after May 31, 2026. Intuit says affected users lose services such as Desktop Payroll, Desktop Payments, online banking, certain email functions, eInvoice, and live technical support.
Check the computer before installing QuickBooks 2024
Intuit’s requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2024 for Windows include:

Windows 10 is listed as installable for QuickBooks 2024, but Microsoft ended Windows 10 security support on October 14, 2025. Intuit recommends a supported Windows version such as Windows 11. ARM processors, emulation, virtualization, Linux, and Windows 10 S Mode are not supported configurations.
Why third-party “all versions” downloads are risky
A website offering every historical QuickBooks installer is not an official Intuit archive. Even if a downloaded file runs, it may be modified, bundled with malware, missing the correct edition, or unusable without a previously registered license.
Intuit warns that QuickBooks Desktop software purchased online from a vendor other than Intuit may be fraudulent. A low purchase price does not solve activation, company-file compatibility, discontinued services, or security-update problems.

FAQ
Is there an official QuickBooks Desktop all-versions download?
No. Intuit does not provide a public archive containing every Desktop year and edition. Use the Downloads & Updates selector or retrieve a registered product through CAMPs.
Can I install QuickBooks Desktop completely offline?
You can download the main installer in advance and run that file later, but activation and services such as payroll, payments, banking, and registration may require Internet access.
