What was the 108-post DSSSB recruitment?
The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) issued Advertisement No. 06/2023 on 22 December 2023 for Section Officer (Horticulture), post code 803/23. The notice advertised 108 tentative vacancies: 89 with the Municipal Corporations of Delhi and 19 with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). The notice said the vacancy figures were tentative and based on information supplied by the departments and bodies.

How did the two employers’ eligibility rules differ?
The qualifications and age limits were not interchangeable. Municipal Corporations of Delhi and NDMC posts had separate requirements in the 2023 notice. It assessed education, age and experience as of 7 February 2024; the age limits below are the published limits before any applicable relaxation.

Category-based age relaxations and reservation conditions depend on the notice’s detailed rules. Candidates assessing their eligibility for this past cycle should refer to the official Advertisement No. 06/2023, rather than applying one employer’s criteria to the other.

When was registration open, and what was the fee?
Applications were accepted online through DSSSB’s OARS portal from 9 January to 7 February 2024, with the deadline at 11:59 p.m. The notice described DSSSB registration as a one-time exercise for its examinations. The application fee was ₹100; women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates were exempt under the notice. These were terms for the closed 2024 application window, not current registration instructions.
How was selection structured?
The selection process had two examination tiers, including technical horticulture content in Tier II. The advertisement specified a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect multiple-choice answer. Final selection and department allocation were to depend on Tier-II merit, candidate preferences and eligibility under the applicable recruitment rules. The original advertisement contains the detailed syllabus and conditions.
