As of August 16, 2026, the verifiable Musk-related crypto story is X’s payments rollout—not a confirmed Dogecoin feature or an announced xAI blockchain project. X Money was reported as a fiat-oriented service; DOGE support has not been confirmed, and the official xAI announcement available concerns its relationship with SpaceX, not blockchain.
What is the latest Musk-related crypto development?
X is expanding payments, but that does not establish that it is adding cryptocurrency. Reports about X Money describe peer-to-peer transfers, bank deposits, a debit card and cashback. They do not confirm DOGE transfers, a crypto wallet or blockchain settlement. CoinDesk’s March 2026 coverage described the announced feature set as fiat-oriented.
Reuters, via Investing.com, reported on March 10, 2026, that X Money was expected to enter early public access in April as part of Musk’s “everything app” strategy. In June, Bloomberg reported that X Payments was expanding to more users after a delay. Neither report, as summarized, establishes cryptocurrency support or universal availability.
CoinDesk also reported Visa involvement, a licensed subsidiary in more than 40 U.S. states and a proposed or advertised 6% yield on balances. Those are reported details, not a guarantee of current terms, eligibility, coverage or rate. Check X’s current disclosures before relying on them.

Does X Money support Dogecoin?
DOGE integration has not been confirmed in the reported X Money feature set. That is different from saying X will never support it: a future crypto feature is possible, but possibility is not a product announcement. The available reporting does not establish DOGE deposits, withdrawals, balances, payments, custody or settlement through X Money.
Nor are these terms interchangeable: a service could let users buy crypto without settling ordinary payments on a blockchain; it could use a private ledger internally; or it could support DOGE transfers on Dogecoin’s public network. A claim that a product “uses blockchain” does not, by itself, prove any of those specific functions.

- Top-Tier Security Chip, Bank-Grade Asset Protection: Equipped with an industry-leading Infineon CC EAL 6+ certified security chip, also certified by EMVCo, this chip is widely used in bank payment and identity verification systems. Your private keys are generated and stored entirely offline within the chip, ensuring they never touch the internet. This physically blocks remote hacker attacks and eliminates the risk of private key leakage, building an impregnable first line of defense for your digital assets.
- What You See Is What You Sign, Hardware Button Protection: Every transaction requires manual confirmation via physical buttons on the imKey Pro's clear display. The device intuitively shows key transaction details like the amount and address, ensuring the data hasn't been tampered with during transmission—truly achieving "What You See Is What You Sign." It also features secure PIN code protection and a self-destruct mechanism after multiple incorrect attempts (the private key is wiped after 5 consecutive wrong entries), effectively preventing brute-force attacks even if the device is lost.
- Comprehensive Multi-Chain Asset Support, Access the Web3 Ecosystem: Fully supports major mainnets and Layer 2 networks, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), LTC, ATOM, FIL, TRX and more. By adding custom RPCs, you can easily access all EVM-compatible chains like BSC, Polygon, and Avalanche. Furthermore, imKey Pro perfectly supports Layer 2 solutions such as zkSync and Arbitrum, as well as the display and storage of NFTs, meeting all your diverse on-chain needs.
- Cold & Hot Wallet Separation, A Seamless Experience: Utilizing Bluetooth 4.1 wireless technology, it pairs seamlessly with the imToken App on your mobile phone or browser extension wallets on your PC without needing any cables. It combines the ultimate security of a cold wallet (offline private key storage) with the convenience of a hot wallet (online interaction). When a transaction is needed, you sign it offline with your imKey, and the app broadcasts it to the chain. This guarantees asset security without sacrificing the fluidity of use.
- Extremely Thin and Light, A Portable Digital Vault: The device is smaller than a credit card, measuring just 2.3mm thick and weighing approximately 17g. Crafted with a zinc alloy body and a PC panel, it offers a premium feel and is extremely portable. The built-in 33mAh lithium-polymer battery provides a battery life of up to approximately four weeks on a single charge. The package includes the hardware wallet, a USB cable, and mnemonic cards, making it ready to use right out of the box—a secure and reliable gateway to the crypto world.
Why do X payment announcements often revive DOGE speculation?
Musk has publicly supported Dogecoin, and Tesla has previously accepted DOGE for selected merchandise. That history gives traders a reason to imagine DOGE as a potential payment option when X discusses payments. It does not amount to a commitment from X, Tesla or Musk to add DOGE to X Money.
Price moves around an announcement can reflect expectations, algorithmic trading, liquidity and broader crypto-market conditions. A rally is not evidence of integration. The distinction matters because companies may buy DOGE based on their own expectations: Bit Origin’s SEC-filed announcement described a proposed DOGE treasury strategy and expressed hope that DOGE might eventually fit into X Money. That is Bit Origin’s investment thesis, not an X or Musk promise.

What is established about xAI and blockchain?
No substantiated xAI announcement in the available evidence describes a blockchain, token, crypto-payment rail, DOGE integration or decentralized AI network. The official xAI announcement concerning xAI joining SpaceX does not announce such a project.
Keep the entities distinct: X is the social and payments platform; xAI develops AI products including Grok; SpaceX is an aerospace company; DOGE is an open-source cryptocurrency. A development involving one should not be attributed to another without documentation. DOGE is not an official Musk, X, xAI or SpaceX token.

There is a separate, reported blockchain discussion. Bloomberg Law reported that Musk explored possible blockchain uses for a government-efficiency effort, including tracking federal spending, securing data and facilitating payments. That was reported exploration, not evidence of a built or operating system, and not an xAI product announcement. The overlapping “DOGE” acronym for the government-efficiency effort and Dogecoin can make unrelated stories appear connected.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How Dogecoin works—and what that does not imply
Dogecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency with a public blockchain. Its network uses proof of work, produces blocks at roughly one-minute intervals and has no fixed maximum supply; miners receive newly issued DOGE as rewards. Holding DOGE does not confer formal governance rights over the network. See the official Dogecoin site, its blockchain explainer and the SEC-filed Grayscale Dogecoin Trust disclosure.

Those mechanics help separate network utility from investment claims. DOGE can be transferred on its network without X adopting it, and an organization holding DOGE does not create new payment utility or establish Musk’s endorsement. Because the supply is not capped, issuance continues; price also remains exposed to volatility and social-media-driven speculation.
What risks should a reader weigh?
- Market risk: DOGE can be highly volatile, and attention around Musk or X can amplify speculation without changing the network’s utility.
- Supply and security: DOGE has no fixed supply cap. The SEC-filed trust disclosure also discusses risks including concentration of mining power and potential 51% attacks.
- Custody and fraud: Crypto transfers can be difficult to reverse. Do not trust unsolicited payment links, purported official Musk tokens, or screenshots without verifiable provenance.
- Product and regulatory uncertainty: Payment apps, yield products, crypto custody and exchanges can be subject to different rules and availability limits. A reported yield is not the same as native Dogecoin staking; Dogecoin uses proof of work.
- Investment loss: Crypto assets can lose substantial or all of their value. A rumor of future X integration is not a sound substitute for assessing that risk.
How to verify a future DOGE-integration claim
Look for primary product evidence before treating a headline, post or price move as confirmation. Strong evidence would include an official X announcement, X Money terms or help page naming DOGE, a product interface showing crypto functions, a relevant regulatory filing, or a formal announcement from a named payments, custody or exchange partner.
A DOGE meme, a third-party company’s purchase, an anonymous “insider” claim, an unverified screenshot or a token borrowing Musk, Grok, X or SpaceX branding does not meet that standard. Until product documentation says otherwise, X Money’s reported fiat features and speculation about DOGE should be treated as separate stories.
