LinkedIn Learning’s current all-professionals ranking puts workplace judgment, communication, Excel, and inclusion skills ahead of narrowly technical subjects. That makes the list relevant to personal-finance readers: these are skills that can improve job performance, support a career change, or strengthen a case for promotion.
The ranking comes from LinkedIn Learning’s collection titled The Top 20 Most Popular Courses Among All Professionals. LinkedIn says more than seven million professionals took the courses in the collection over the past year. “Popular” here means high learner uptake—not highest-rated, newest, or automatically best for every learner.

For a personal-finance reader, this is the most directly applicable option. You could practice with a household budget, debt-payoff schedule, or savings forecast rather than only following workplace examples. The Microsoft 365 and 2025 designation also matters: make sure the version and features match the Excel installation you use.

Choose based on the skill gap you can use immediately, rather than simply selecting the course with the largest viewer figure.

A sensible approach is to complete one course, apply one technique at work, and record the result. For example, you might build a PivotTable for a recurring report, use a clearer structure in a presentation, or revise a decision-making process to account for overlooked perspectives. That gives the learning a practical outcome instead of treating course completion as the outcome itself.

LinkedIn’s current collection is different from its earlier annual lists. The official 2024 list, published December 16, 2024, placed Excel Essential Training (Microsoft 365) first, followed by Project Management Foundations and What Is Generative AI? That was a separate 2024 list, not the current all-professionals ranking.
LinkedIn has also published a separate list of its 10 most popular AI courses of 2025. That AI-only ranking should not be substituted for this broader list. Course popularity can help identify subjects many learners are pursuing, but it cannot establish that a course is the best match for your career, learning style, software version, or financial goals.

Excel Essential Training (Microsoft 365) (2025) is the most directly useful for personal-finance work because it covers calculations, data analysis, charts, and PivotTables. You can apply it to budgets, savings forecasts, debt schedules, and expense tracking.
Are the viewer counts the ranking numbers?
No. The viewer counts shown on individual course pages are separate course-level figures. They do not rise consistently from rank one to rank seven, so they should not be used to reconstruct LinkedIn’s ranking.
