Brownes ProGo: Yogo’s High-Protein Spin-Off Arrives After Dirt Dessert’s Return

Brownes says ProGo Strawberry contains 17g of protein per serve. Here’s how it relates to Yogo, how it differs from Dirt Dessert, and where it is listed.

Brownes Dairy’s ProGo is a high-protein dairy dessert connected to its Yogo brand, not a relaunch of Yogo Dirt Dessert. Brownes says its current ProGo Strawberry contains 17g of protein per serve; the product’s 2025 launch followed the return of Dirt Dessert in August 2024.

What is Brownes ProGo?

ProGo is a Brownes Dairy dessert positioned as an evolution of Yogo. Launch coverage in 2025 described both Strawberry and Choc variants, while Brownes’ current product page promotes ProGo Strawberry. Brownes describes the Strawberry product as having no added sugar, being gluten-free, and using natural colours and flavours. Brownes Dairy’s Yogo and desserts page

How much protein does ProGo contain?

Brownes states that ProGo Strawberry has 17g of protein per serve. The page does not state the serve’s weight or provide a full nutrition panel in its published text, so the figure cannot be reliably converted to protein per 100g or used for a like-for-like comparison with another dessert. “No added sugar” is Brownes’ formulation claim; it does not mean sugar-free.

Is ProGo the same as classic Yogo?

No. ProGo is a newer, higher-protein product associated with the Yogo brand; it is distinct from classic Yogo Chocolate and from Yogo Dirt Dessert. Brownes’ Yogo Chocolate product page lists 10.4g of protein per 170g serve. Because ProGo’s serve weight and full nutrition panel are not stated on its page, those protein figures should not be treated as a direct nutritional comparison. Brownes Dairy’s Yogo Chocolate page

How does Dirt Dessert fit the timeline?

Yogo Dirt Dessert’s return came first. PerthNow reported that it returned in August 2024 after being discontinued in 2012. Brownes ProGo launch coverage followed in August and September 2025, so the two events were separate rather than a simultaneous relaunch. PerthNow’s 29 August 2025 report

Where can you buy ProGo?

Brownes currently directs Western Australian shoppers to Coles and independent retailers for ProGo Strawberry. At the September 2025 launch, Food & Drink Business reported ProGo Choc at Coles, Woolworths, and independent retailers. That launch information is dated and does not establish present availability or stock at a particular store. Food & Drink Business’ 8 September 2025 report

Why did Brownes launch it?

Brownes presented ProGo as a response to interest in convenient protein and changing expectations for dairy desserts. Nicole Ohm, Brownes Dairy’s head of marketing, told Food & Drink Business that the launch was “about the future” and an opportunity to pair a familiar taste with nutritional benefits consumers expect. That is the company’s rationale, not independent evidence of a broader market trend.
