The Galaxy A56 5G was not simply on sale for £249. SamMobile reported that UK shoppers could reach that effective price during a temporary promotion by combining a Samsung Black Friday price cut, a PayPal code and a trade-in credit. The offer was reported to run until 12 December 2025, so it has expired; the £249 figure should not be treated as a live price in October 2026.
How the £249 price was calculated
SamMobile reported the following stacked discounts for the UK Samsung Galaxy A56 5G:

The £249 was therefore an effective cost after the discounts, not the straightforward advertised checkout price: the reported price after the Black Friday reduction was £349. Any trade-in value above the stated £50 minimum could have reduced the net cost further, but a higher amount was not guaranteed by the report. SamMobile’s 26 November 2025 report is the source for the promotion, code and discount figures.
What shoppers had to do—and what is not established
According to SamMobile, the route was to buy through Samsung UK, apply the reported PayPal discount and trade in a smartphone. The report described the trade-in as a guaranteed £50 discount for any smartphone, in any condition. The exact Samsung programme terms are not established here, so that claim should be treated as the report’s description rather than a guarantee for a future purchase.

- Trade-in details: The report does not establish the full eligibility rules, inspection process, timing of the credit, device-reset requirements or what happens if a submitted phone differs from its declaration.
- PayPal terms: It reported code
PAYPAL, but does not establish all payment, account or checkout exclusions. - Finance: The report said the offer applied to outright purchases or monthly agreements. With finance, compare the total payable and contract terms—not only the monthly amount.
For any replacement promotion, the live basket and trade-in quote are decisive. Check the precise model and storage, whether each discount appears before payment, any separate trade-in shipping or inspection conditions, and the total cost of a finance agreement. Do not count a historical code or credit until the current checkout confirms it.
Which Galaxy A56 was involved?
The Samsung UK page identifies a Galaxy A56 5G configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, SKU SM-A566BZKCEUB. The £249 report concerns the UK Samsung offer; it does not establish that every colour, variant or retailer had the same price. Samsung’s product page showed a £499 price signal in a recent crawl, but that is a reference rather than a verified live price or stock check. Samsung says the box includes the phone, a data cable and an ejection pin, but no travel adapter. Anyone who does not already have a compatible USB-C charger may need to account for one separately.
What you get for the money
The A56 is a mid-range 5G phone, not a flagship. Its appeal is a combination of a large AMOLED screen, everyday camera hardware, water and dust resistance, and a long stated software-support period.

Samsung’s UK launch announcement lists the launch specifications and software commitment: Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 announcement. The macro camera is a supplementary option; buyers prioritising zoom, demanding games or flagship-level image processing should compare alternatives rather than assume the A56 delivers flagship performance.

At a genuine £249 effective cost, the A56’s screen, OIS-equipped main camera, IP67 rating, 45W charging and support commitment made it a strong-value Samsung option. That judgement depends on actually qualifying for the stacked discounts and valuing the trade-in credit at its stated amount. A shopper without an eligible trade-in or the applicable PayPal offer would not have had the same cost.

SamMobile said the effective A56 price was below the Galaxy A36’s price at the time. That was a comparison tied to the November–December 2025 promotions, not a current ranking: prices vary by retailer, storage and date. Compare the live total for each model and configuration before deciding.
How to assess a replacement offer
- Open the seller’s current UK product page and confirm the exact A56 5G variant, storage, colour and seller.
- Check the basket price before any trade-in or payment-code discount.
- Read the current promotion terms before relying on a code; the historical
PAYPALoffer is not evidence that it still works. - Enter the old phone’s details in the live trade-in flow and check how and when any credit is applied, along with inspection and return requirements.
- For monthly finance, compare the full amount payable and agreement terms with the SIM-free cost.
- Confirm delivery, returns and stock with the retailer before placing the order.
Samsung’s direct-buy route is Samsung UK. Other UK listings include Tesco Mobile and John Lewis; the available information does not establish their current prices. Compare the full cost and terms, since Samsung’s historical trade-in and PayPal stack may not apply through another seller.
