For most single-line customers, US Mobile Unlimited Starter is the best value in 2026: it costs $22.50 per month, includes taxes and fees, offers 20GB of hotspot data, and lets you choose among three underlying networks. Heavy users should consider US Mobile Unlimited Premium, while customers who prefer a major carrier may find T-Mobile Experience More worth the higher price.
The cheapest “unlimited” phone plan is not always the cheapest plan to live with. Compare high-speed data limits, hotspot allowances, network priority, and taxes and fees before switching.

Best overall: US Mobile Unlimited Starter
US Mobile Unlimited Starter combines a low monthly bill with features that usually cost more elsewhere. It is $22.50 per month, or $199 for the first year on the current annual offer for new lines. The annual price works out to about $16.58 per month, although paying annually means committing more cash upfront.

The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data, 20GB of hotspot data, and taxes and fees. You can select US Mobile’s Dark Star, Warp, or Light Speed network, giving you more flexibility than a typical prepaid plan tied to one carrier. See US Mobile’s plans.
There is an important qualification: the amount of high-speed data depends on the network you select. US Mobile currently lists unlimited high-speed data on Dark Star, while Warp and Light Speed may reduce speeds after 70GB of monthly use. Starter also has standard—not priority—data, so performance may be less consistent than a premium plan when a local network is congested. Check US Mobile’s network-specific plan details.
For a single line that mainly needs reliable phone data, occasional hotspot use, and a predictable bill, Starter is the strongest balance of price and features.
Best for very heavy use: US Mobile Unlimited Premium
US Mobile Unlimited Premium costs $32.50 per month, or $299 for the first year on the current annual offer. Taxes and fees are included.

It adds unlimited priority data, unlimited hotspot service, 20GB of international roaming data, 200 international minutes, 250 international texts, and free network transfers. Those features make it a better fit for people who regularly use more than 70GB on their phone, work from a laptop through a phone hotspot, or travel internationally.
“Unlimited hotspot” does not mean unlimited full-speed hotspot access on every network configuration. US Mobile’s comparison information describes one configuration with 100GB of high-speed hotspot data, another 100GB at up to 8Mbps, and then 600Kbps. Other network choices have different allowances. Check the details for the network you select before treating this as a replacement for home internet. Review US Mobile’s hotspot limits.
Premium is also a relatively inexpensive way to get priority data. If congestion regularly affects your current low-cost plan, the extra $10 per month over Starter may be worthwhile.

| One | $90 |
| Two | $150 |
| Three | $185 |

Experience More includes unlimited premium data, 60GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data, Netflix Standard with ads, Apple TV+ for $3 per month, and upgrade eligibility every two years. It also carries a five-year guarantee for the monthly price of talk, text, and 5G data. See T-Mobile’s plan terms.
The guarantee does not freeze the entire bill. Taxes, fees, add-ons, third-party services, and other charges can change. Experience More’s high-speed hotspot allowance is 60GB; hotspot data has a separate limit from phone data, so check the plan terms for what happens after that allowance.
Best Verizon-network value: Visible+
Visible+ is a good choice when Verizon coverage works best at your home, workplace, or travel destinations. Its regular price is $35 per month with taxes and fees included. The current offer shows $29 per month with code SAVE6, but promotional pricing may expire or be limited to new members. The annual option is $375, or about $31.25 per month.

AT&T says Premium 2.0 provides unlimited high-speed data that will not slow based on usage. It also includes 100GB of hotspot data per line, 4K UHD streaming, AT&T ActiveArmor security, and unlimited talk, text, and high-speed data in 20 Latin American countries. Review AT&T’s plan details.
Recommended Free Tools
This plan is worth considering if AT&T performs best in the places you regularly use your phone or if Latin America roaming is valuable. It is not the cheapest option for a single line, however, and the advertised price depends on qualifying billing discounts.
Do not confuse the current plan with older AT&T comparisons. AT&T launched its 2.0 lineup in March 2026. The current consumer options are Value 2.0, Extra 2.0, Premium 2.0, and Elite 2.0. Read AT&T’s announcement of the current lineup.
Best budget plan: Boost Mobile Unlimited
Boost Mobile Unlimited costs $25 per month with AutoPay or $30 without it. A current new-customer promotion may reduce the price to $10 per month for the first three months, followed by the regular $25 price. The introductory offer should not be used as the long-term cost in your budget.
The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data, but the first 30GB is the key figure. After 30GB of premium data in a billing cycle, Boost may reduce speeds to 512Kbps for the rest of that cycle. Taxes, regulatory fees, and surcharges are extra. See Boost’s unlimited-plan terms.
At 512Kbps, basic messaging and light web use may continue, but video streaming, large downloads, video calls, and app updates can become frustrating. Boost Unlimited+ costs $50 with AutoPay and includes 40GB of premium data, while Unlimited Premium costs $60 with AutoPay and includes 50GB plus additional international features. Compare Boost’s unlimited plans.

How to tell whether an unlimited plan is genuinely unlimited
Before switching, compare the restrictions behind the word “unlimited.”
- Look for the premium-data threshold. Boost may slow service after 30GB. AT&T Extra 2.0 and Value 2.0 may slow data after 100GB and 5GB, respectively, when the network is busy. That is different from unlimited high-speed data in all conditions. Boost’s terms explain its usage threshold.
- Separate phone data from hotspot data. A plan can provide unlimited phone data but only 20GB, 60GB, or 100GB of high-speed hotspot data. After that allowance, speeds or availability may change under the plan’s terms.
- Check network priority. Standard-priority data can be slower than premium data during congestion, even when the plan has not reached a usage threshold. US Mobile Starter uses standard priority, while Premium includes priority data and T-Mobile Experience plans include unlimited premium data.
- Check video quality. A plan that limits streaming to 480p may be perfectly adequate for a small phone screen but less suitable for tethering or a large tablet. Visible’s basic plan lists up to 480p, Visible+ up to 1080p, and Visible+ Pro up to 4K UHD.
- Add taxes and fees to the comparison. US Mobile and Visible include taxes and fees on the plans above. T-Mobile, AT&T, and Boost generally advertise base prices before some or all taxes, fees, and surcharges.
- Test coverage where you actually use the phone. A carrier’s nationwide reputation matters less than signal inside your home, along your commute, and at the places you visit. Network flexibility can make US Mobile especially useful if one underlying network does not perform well.
Plans and claims that are easy to misread
- AT&T’s old lineup: Articles that list only Starter, Extra, and Premium are out of date for the current consumer lineup. AT&T now uses the 2.0 plans listed above.
- T-Mobile’s 50GB warning: The claim that T-Mobile’s best plans slow after 50GB does not describe the current Experience plans’ premium phone data. Their hotspot allowances still have separate limits.
- Visible hotspot caps: Visible currently advertises unlimited hotspot use on its basic, Visible+, and Visible+ Pro plans. The important differences are hotspot speed and the other benefits attached to each tier.
- Boost Infinite Access: Boost stopped selling Infinite Access plans to new lines on June 30, 2026. Existing customers retain their grandfathered plans and annual-upgrade benefits. See Boost’s Infinite Access terms.
- Price guarantees: A price lock generally applies only to the base talk, text, and data rate. T-Mobile’s guarantee excludes taxes, fees, add-ons, third-party services, and network-management practices. Verizon’s three-year guarantee similarly excludes perks, taxes, fees, and surcharges.
How to choose without overpaying
- Estimate your normal data usage. Review the last three months of bills or your phone’s cellular-data settings. If you rarely exceed 20GB, paying for premium unlimited data may not improve your experience.
- Decide whether hotspot is essential. A remote worker who tethers a laptop needs to compare high-speed hotspot allowances, not just the headline phone-data limit.
- Calculate the complete monthly cost. Include AutoPay requirements, taxes, fees, device payments, and any streaming subscriptions you would otherwise pay separately.
- Compare the cost over a year. A $25 monthly plan costs $300 before taxes and fees. US Mobile Starter’s $199 annual offer is cheaper, but it requires upfront payment and is identified as an offer for new lines.
- Verify coverage before porting your number. Use a trial or test line when available. A cheap plan is not a bargain if you need a second line or extra data to compensate for poor service.
