JumpCloud announced on March 19, 2024, that it had completed its acquisition of Resmo, a specialist in SaaS security and cloud-native IT asset management. Financial terms were not disclosed. JumpCloud said Resmo’s technology would add discovery and governance for SaaS applications and IT resources to its open-directory platform.
What JumpCloud acquired
Resmo built asset-management and SaaS-security capabilities for cloud-native IT and security operations teams. JumpCloud’s announcement described the acquisition as a way to broaden its existing identity, device and access capabilities with visibility into SaaS applications, cloud resources and other IT assets. The transaction had closed before the announcement, and Resmo employees were offered employment with JumpCloud. ChannelPro reported the deal on March 19, 2024.
Why JumpCloud wanted Resmo
The strategic rationale was to address shadow IT: employees can adopt SaaS tools or other services without IT teams knowing they exist, making it harder to assess risk, manage access or maintain an accurate asset inventory. JumpCloud said combining its platform with Resmo’s capabilities could help customers discover unmanaged applications and IT resources, enforce secure access and improve enterprise-wide visibility. Greg Keller, JumpCloud’s co-founder and chief technology officer, put the problem simply: “For IT teams, you can’t secure what you don’t know about.” JumpCloud’s announcement framed the intended result as a more centralized console for identity, devices, access, security and asset management.
What the combined approach was meant to offer
The acquisition was presented as an expansion of JumpCloud’s platform rather than a standalone asset-management purchase. The intended combination joined JumpCloud’s identity, device and access functions with Resmo’s discovery and security coverage for SaaS and cloud resources.

JumpCloud cited company research suggesting that admins commonly use five to 10 applications to manage the worker lifecycle, and sponsored third-party research in which 75% of IT admins preferred a single tool for critical tasks. Those figures were reported by JumpCloud in 2024; they are evidence of the company’s rationale, not independent measurements of the acquisition’s results. What the deal meant for IT teams and MSPs
For enterprise and midmarket IT departments, the customer-facing promise was less tool sprawl and a clearer view of which services and assets are in use, alongside access controls. For security operations teams, the emphasis was on finding unmanaged resources and bringing them into security oversight. For managed service providers, broader coverage in a consolidated platform could be relevant to operating across customer environments, but the announcement did not establish specific MSP packaging, partner terms or a particular operating model.
JumpCloud said more than 200,000 organizations were using its platform in 2024 and reported raising over $400 million from investors including General Atlantic, Sapphire Ventures, Sands Capital, Atlassian and CrowdStrike. These were company-reported background figures, not measures of Resmo’s adoption or the deal’s effect. JumpCloud’s company information is the source for its reported scale and funding context.

What the announcement did not establish
The March 2024 announcement disclosed no purchase price and did not set out current product packaging, pricing or partner terms. It described the intended benefits of the combination; it did not provide evidence that every promised capability was already available in a particular JumpCloud plan or quantify customer outcomes.
