That position changed on September 17: the company said it had switched back to its “Old Timer” logo and paused remodels.
What Cracker Barrel promised on August 25
In a guest statement titled “Our Promise to Our Guests,” Cracker Barrel thanked customers for their feedback and acknowledged it could have done a better job explaining “who we are and who we’ll always be.” Parade reproduced the statement on August 25, 2025. Read Parade’s report.
The company named the familiar details it said would stay: rocking chairs on the porch, a warm fire in the hearth, peg games on the table, gift-shop treasures, and vintage Americana antiques from its Lebanon, Tennessee warehouse. It also said Uncle Herschel would remain on menus, road signs, and in the country store. On the food side, Cracker Barrel promised generous portions at fair prices, continued availability of many fan-favorite dishes, and new dishes.
The statement’s tone was conciliatory, but it did not announce a reversal. Cracker Barrel said it would keep “testing, learning, and listening” to guests and employees; at the time, it continued to frame the logo update and remodels as ways to prepare the brand for future families. On August 19, 2025, Cracker Barrel announced a fall campaign featuring updated creative, new and returning menu items, refreshed restaurant remodels, and an updated brand look. The company described the visual identity as an evolution rooted in its barrel shape and word mark. Cracker Barrel’s August 19 announcement.
The August 25 promise responded to criticism of those changes, but the company’s initial message should not be mistaken for a retraction: it emphasized continuity in the guest experience while the updated look and remodels were still being presented as ongoing plans.

Did Cracker Barrel bring back its old logo?
Yes. In a September 17, 2025 release, President and CEO Julie Masino said the company had listened to guests and was “switching back to our ‘Old Timer’ logo” and “hitting pause on remodels.” She also said Cracker Barrel was placing greater emphasis on the kitchen and other areas intended to improve the guest experience. Cracker Barrel’s September 17 release.
That later decision is distinct from the August promise. The August statement described what the company said it would preserve while its new look and remodel plans remained in place; the September release announced the logo switchback and remodel pause.
