Costco’s U.S. Executive benefits took effect June 30, 2025; they are not newly starting in October 2026. The package includes earlier warehouse shopping hours and a conditional monthly delivery credit. Executive members also earn an approximately 2% reward on eligible purchases, subject to separate rules and exclusions.
When did Costco Executive member hours start?
Costco’s U.S. Executive Member Benefits page lists the benefit schedule as effective June 30, 2025. That date is the rollout date for the listed benefits, not a new October 2026 launch. The published terms discussed here apply to the U.S.; members elsewhere should consult their country’s Costco terms.
What are Costco Executive hours?
Costco lists these Executive shopping hours in the U.S.:

The published schedule does not establish that every warehouse applies the hours identically. Check your local warehouse’s hours before planning an early visit. Costco’s Executive Member Benefits page lists the benefit and effective date.

What is the $10 Costco delivery credit?
Executive members may receive a $10 monthly credit on an eligible order of $150 or more through SameDay.Costco.com or Costco via Instacart. It is a conditional order credit, not an unconditional $10 cash payment. Check Costco’s current terms for eligibility and restrictions before placing an order. Costco’s benefits page describes the credit.
How much does Costco Executive membership cost?
Costco lists the U.S. annual fees as $65 for a Gold Star or Business membership, plus $65 to upgrade to Executive, for a total of $130 before applicable tax. Does the 2% reward pay for the upgrade?
Not necessarily. Costco says the Executive 2% Reward is approximately 2% of qualifying pre-tax purchases, less refunds, and caps it at $1,250 in a 12-month period. Costco also says the reward is not guaranteed to equal or exceed the upgrade fee. For a rough estimate, multiply expected qualifying annual spend by 0.02; then account for excluded purchases and the fact that the reward is based on eligible purchases, not every dollar spent at Costco.
Who earns the reward, and when?
Only qualifying purchases made after the Executive upgrade by the Primary member and the active Primary Household Cardholder count. Costco issues the reward around two months before renewal, based on qualifying purchases through the issue date. Rewards under $1 are not issued. The $1,250 cap applies per 12-month period. Which purchases are excluded?
Costco’s FAQ lists exclusions that include membership fees, taxes, shipping, Costco Shop Cards, gasoline, food-court purchases, certain state-specific alcohol and prescription purchases, and purchases not recorded through qualifying Costco registers or sites. Some Costco Travel charges are also excluded, including gratuities, trip protection, surcharges, third-party purchases, and Viator excursions booked through the Costco Travel partnership. This is not an exhaustive list; consult the current FAQ for the full and most recent terms.
The Executive 2% Reward is separate from any reward certificate associated with a Costco co-branded credit card. The card’s reward follows its own terms.

How to decide whether Executive is worth it
Compare the incremental $65 upgrade fee with the likely value you will actually receive—not simply total household spending.
- Estimate annual purchases by the Primary member and active Primary Household Cardholder that qualify for the 2% reward, excluding refunds and ineligible categories.
- Consider whether early shopping hours at your local warehouse are useful to your household.
- Count the delivery credit only if you expect to place qualifying $150-or-more orders through an eligible service and can use the credit under its terms.
- Include other Executive benefits only if they apply to services your household uses.
Because exclusions, household use, and local hours affect the value, there is no universal spending figure that guarantees the upgrade is worthwhile. Use Costco’s current reward FAQ to check eligible purchases before estimating your return.
