Cathay Pacific is expanding its network and introducing redesigned cabins on selected Boeing 777-300ER flights, but those developments do not always apply to the same aircraft or every departure. The Seattle–Hong Kong route launched on an Airbus A350-900; the Aria Suite and related cabin refresh are on retrofitted 777-300ERs.
Which new routes is Cathay Pacific adding?
Seattle–Hong Kong: launched March 30, 2026
Cathay Pacific launched nonstop passenger service between Seattle and Hong Kong on March 30, 2026, operating five times weekly. The airline described Seattle as its seventh U.S. passenger destination and ninth in North America. The launch aircraft was an Airbus A350-900, not a retrofitted 777-300ER. Cathay’s published schedule gives different local departure and arrival times across seasonal periods, so check the dates for your trip in the route announcement and current booking details.
Dallas–Fort Worth and the wider network
Cathay announced Dallas–Fort Worth service in 2025 and later said the route would operate daily from October. That is a separate route development from the Seattle launch and from the 777 cabin retrofit. The available announcements do not establish a complete, live inventory of Cathay Pacific routes, so they should not be read as a current list of every destination or frequency.
Network-growth figures also need their scope attached. Cathay Group said on August 5, 2025, that its passenger airlines, Cathay Pacific and HK Express, had launched or announced 19 new destinations in 2025 by that date. Cathay Pacific later said in a March 2026 Los Angeles announcement that the two airlines had launched 20 destinations over the preceding year. Both are group-level company figures, not counts of destinations added by Cathay Pacific alone. The airline also described more than 100 destinations served and well over HK$100 billion in group investment in fleet, cabins, lounges, and digital innovation, along with more than 100 aircraft on order; these are company-reported figures and commitments.

Which routes have the new Aria Suite?
The Aria Suite is part of Cathay Pacific’s retrofit of selected Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Route names alone do not guarantee that a particular departure will use one of those aircraft. Cathay’s 2025 annual report said the new cabins were already on flights to Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Melbourne, Milan, San Francisco, Sydney, and Vancouver, as well as selected regional destinations. The report described further long-haul deployment in 2026, not a promise that every flight on these routes would have the retrofit.
For specific announced deployments, Cathay said selected San Francisco–Hong Kong flights would use the retrofitted 777-300ER from year-end 2025 and January 2026, with six weekly deployments described in its announcement. For Los Angeles–Hong Kong, it said selected flights would begin using the aircraft on April 4, 2026, initially once a week, with frequency planned to increase to daily from May 1. The Los Angeles announcement lists date windows and day-of-week variations through October 2026; schedules and aircraft assignments can change, so those windows are not a guarantee for later travel.

No. The announcements and annual report describe selected retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and selected flights, not a fleet-wide conversion or a permanent assignment to every departure on a named route. The 777-300ER retrofit is also distinct from Cathay’s planned Boeing 777-9 fleet. In an August 2025 results release, Cathay said it had exercised purchase rights for 14 additional 777-9s, bringing its commitment to 35, and expected the first aircraft in 2027. The same release said the airline planned a new flat-bed Business class on selected A330 aircraft in 2026. Those were company plans stated in 2025, not confirmation of later delivery or entry into service.

How to check whether your flight has the upgraded cabin
- Check the aircraft type for your exact flight. The Aria Suite retrofit discussed here is on selected Boeing 777-300ERs. A route may also be operated by another aircraft type; Seattle’s launch, for example, used an A350-900.
- Review the seat map and cabin details before booking. Look for the specific cabin and seat features shown for the departure you are considering rather than relying on the route name.
- Recheck before departure. Aircraft assignments and schedules can change, and Cathay’s announcements identify selected flights rather than guaranteeing a particular aircraft for every trip.
Connectivity and in-flight entertainment
Cathay’s 2025 annual report said it achieved 100% seatback entertainment and high-speed connectivity across its fleet in August 2025. Complimentary Wi-Fi eligibility depends on membership and cabin, according to the airline’s Wi-Fi announcement; fleet-wide connectivity does not mean every traveler receives complimentary access on identical terms. Check the applicable in-flight entertainment and connectivity details for your trip.
