Chelsea’s official announcement names Circle Internet Group as its principal and front-of-shirt partner from the 2026/27 season.
Why some fans are asking for Samsung’s return
In sponsor discussions, individual Reddit commenters expressed nostalgia for the Samsung-branded Chelsea shirts. One wrote, “As a samsung fans i want it to come back”; in a separate discussion after an IFS announcement, another asked, “Can we petition Samsung to come back please?” These remarks show that some fans would welcome a return, but they are not a poll or a representative measure of Chelsea supporters’ views.
Samsung’s history with Chelsea
Samsung Electronics’ 2005 annual report says the company became Chelsea’s “Official Club Sponsor” in June 2005. It also describes sponsorship activities in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas. That record confirms the historic relationship and its start; the cited passage does not establish the complete end date or indicate any current talks.
What the recent report does—and does not—establish
The discussion prompting some Samsung nostalgia concerned a reported approach to HP. That is not evidence that Samsung was approached, is a candidate, or is negotiating with Chelsea. The original report referred to in the topic was not independently established here, so its exact claim and sourcing remain unclear.

Who Chelsea has confirmed for 2026/27
In an announcement dated 28 August 2026, Chelsea named Circle Internet Group its principal partner and official front-of-shirt partner beginning with the 2026/27 season. The club says Circle and USDC branding will appear on the men’s, women’s and academy shirts. The announcement does not state the agreement’s term or value.
Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire described the partnership this way: “We built USDC on the belief that money should work seamlessly for everyone everywhere, the way the internet does. Partnering with Chelsea connects us with a global sports community built on that exact same borderless vision.” This is Circle’s explanation of its rationale, not an independent assessment of the partnership.
