Which CSIR-UGC NET 2025 cycle did the notice refer to?
“CSIR UGC NET 2025 registration” can mean either the June or December cycle. Their deadlines and exam dates were different; neither cycle is open for applications now. The National Testing Agency’s portal shows later 2026 activity as of 8 October 2026, so applicants should use the official portal for current notices rather than rely on an old “apply now” link.

The December dates reflect NTA’s extension notice dated 24 October 2025. It refers to an original invitation dated 25 September 2025. The reviewed notice does not establish the initial opening day or a verified direct application/login URL for that cycle; the June dates and portal link should not be treated as December-cycle instructions. June 2025 application fee
The June 2025 information bulletin listed the following fees. These are historical amounts for that cycle, not a fee schedule for a future examination.

The bulletin also says PwD candidates were exempt from paying the fee. Payment options were net banking, debit or credit card, and UPI; applicable bank or payment-gateway charges could be added. Check the relevant bulletin for any later cycle’s fees and exemptions.
How the June 2025 application worked
For June 2025, applications were online only through csirnet.nta.ac.in. NTA instructed applicants to use their own email address and mobile number, which were used for communications. The bulletin’s process was:

- Upload the required photograph, signature and applicable certificates or forms.
- Pay the fee through an available payment method.
- Download and keep the confirmation page.
These steps describe the June 2025 cycle only. A future application should follow the instructions and upload requirements in its own official bulletin.
What the CSIR-UGC NET exam covers
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor and PhD admission, subject to the applicable eligibility criteria. The June 2025 bulletin listed five subjects:

For the June 2025 cycle, NTA described the test as an objective, multiple-choice computer-based examination lasting 180 minutes. The bulletin scheduled it for 26–28 July and said the candidate’s centre, date and shift would be specified on the admit card; the timing was to be announced later. The December 2025 schedule instead listed 18 December, with a morning shift from 9 a.m. to noon and an evening shift from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; reporting times were 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

Use the official CSIR-NTA portal to check current cycle announcements and application instructions. The portal address was named in the June 2025 bulletin; it is not evidence that a 2025 form remains open or that a particular December-cycle login link is valid.
