CLAT 2026 registration is closed. The Consortium of National Law Universities stopped accepting fresh applications at 11:59 p.m. on 7 November 2025; only candidates who had already started an application could complete payment through 11:59 p.m. on 9 November 2025. The exam was held on 7 December 2025, so there is no active CLAT 2026 application link.

Is CLAT 2026 registration still open?

No. The Consortium’s 7 November 2025 notice stated that “Fresh registrations will not be accepted after this time.” The limited extension to 9 November applied only to candidates who had initiated registration but had not yet paid; it did not reopen applications for new candidates. Later payment requests were not to be considered. See the Consortium’s CLAT 2026 portal for official cycle information; a portal link cannot reopen the closed window.

What was the last date to apply for CLAT 2026?

The official UG instructions initially set the application period to open on 1 August 2025 and close on 31 October 2025 at 11:59 p.m. On 31 October, the Consortium extended the deadline for both UG and PG applications to 11:59 p.m. on 7 November. A further, narrower payment-completion exception ran until 11:59 p.m. on 9 November for candidates who had already initiated registration.

When was the CLAT 2026 exam?

The Consortium confirmed that CLAT 2026 was conducted on 7 December 2025. Its press release reported 92,344 applicants: 75,009 for UG and 17,335 for PG. Of those applicants, 96.83% of UG candidates and 92.45% of PG candidates appeared for the exam. These are applicant and appearance figures, not admission or enrollment totals. The Consortium’s official CLAT 2026 site is the appropriate source for notices about that cycle.

Can I still pay the CLAT 2026 application fee?

Only a candidate who had already initiated registration could use the payment-completion exception, which ended at 11:59 p.m. on 9 November 2025. That exception has passed. The Consortium said later payment requests would not be considered.

How did the CLAT 2026 application work?

The following details describe the 2026 cycle only; they are not instructions or fee guidance for a later exam.

  1. Register online using a personal mobile number and email address, then validate the mobile number with an OTP.
  2. Complete and submit the online application through the Consortium site, including the required information and PDF document uploads. The listed documents included a recent passport-size photograph, the candidate’s signature, and applicable category or competent-authority certificates.
  3. Pay the application fee online. The application was complete only after the required information and payment had been submitted.

The instructions advised candidates to ensure their names matched across certificates, marksheets and identity proof. Originals were to be submitted to the allotted university as directed at admission. After submission and payment, the program, category and BPL field could not be changed; updates were not entertained after the application window closed.

What were the CLAT 2026 application fees?

Candidate category 2026 application fee
General/OBC ₹4,000
SC/ST/BPL/PwD ₹3,500

These were the Consortium’s stated application fees for the 2026 cycle, not confirmed fees for any later cycle. Online payment was required; candidates bore bank transaction charges, and the fee was non-refundable and non-adjustable.

Where should I look for a later application opportunity?

Check the Consortium’s official notices and the relevant university’s admissions notices for current information. The 2026 dates, fees and application requirements above should not be assumed to apply to another cycle. The available official information cited here does not establish a current CLAT 2027 application window or live university vacancies.
