Campbell Soup Company became The Campbell’s Company after shareholders approved a corporate name change on November 19, 2024. The change reflects a business that now spans meals, beverages, and snacks; it did not change the Campbell’s soup brand or its packaging.

What is Campbell Soup Company’s new name?

The corporation’s name is The Campbell’s Company. Shareholders approved the change at the company’s annual meeting on November 19, 2024. A contemporaneous SEC filing records that the amended name became effective that day. The SEC filing identifies the corporate name change.

Why did Campbell change its name?

The company said “Campbell Soup Company” no longer described the full breadth of its business. Its portfolio includes meals, beverages, snacks, sauces, and brands such as Campbell’s, Goldfish, Rao’s, Pepperidge Farm, Prego, and V8. In its announcement, the company described two divisions—Meals & Beverages and Snacks—and reported fiscal 2024 net sales of $9.6 billion across them. That is a historical fiscal-year figure, not a current sales total. The shareholder release explains the company’s stated rationale and reports the figure.

At the time, President and CEO Mark Clouse described the change as a way to preserve the company’s established name recognition while reflecting its broader portfolio. The new corporate name retains “Campbell’s,” rather than abandoning the company’s heritage.

Did Campbell’s soup cans or labels change?

No. Campbell said the corporate name change did not affect the Campbell’s soup brand or its packaging. Clouse said, “We love soup and always will. The iconic red and white Campbell’s soup labels that people love will always be on shelves.” The company’s announcement makes the distinction between its corporate name and consumer-facing soup branding.

How the company name evolved

Campbell says it was founded in 1869. The company adopted the name Campbell Soup Company in 1922, when soup was its core business. In September 2024, it announced plans to seek shareholder approval to change the corporate name. Shareholders approved the amendment on November 19, 2024, and the SEC records that date as its effective date. The company’s history page traces its origins and records the later name change.

The “155 years” in the 2024 announcement refers to the company’s heritage at that time, counted from its stated 1869 founding—not to the age of the Campbell Soup Company name, which dates to 1922.
