The safest route is to start inside Amazon rather than calling a number from a search result, text message, or email. From Amazon’s official Customer Service page, you can usually reach Chat with us or Request a phone call after working through the relevant help category.
Fastest way to contact Amazon customer service
Go directly to amazon.com/gp/help/customer/contact-us. You can also enter customer service in Amazon’s search bar or try amazon.com/contact-us.
- Sign in to the Amazon account connected to the order or issue.
- Open Customer Service.
- Select the relevant recent order, account issue, subscription, device, or service.
- Choose the closest description of the problem.
- If the suggested solution does not fix it, select Something else.
- Select I need more help, when that option appears.
- Choose Chat with us or Request a phone call, depending on what Amazon makes available for that issue.
Amazon generates the final contact choices dynamically. The labels and sequence can differ based on the order, account, marketplace, delivery status, and type of problem. Therefore, no single menu path is guaranteed for every customer.

How to reach a person through the Amazon app
- Open the Amazon Shopping app.
- Tap Menu, shown as the three-horizontal-lines icon, generally at the lower-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Customer Service.
- Select the order or issue that needs attention.
- Continue through the automated help options.
- Choose Chat with us or Request a phone call if either button is offered.
Amazon’s current iOS and Android listings advertise live chat support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Android listing also says an active chat can remain available for 24 hours, so a disconnected session may not require starting from scratch.
Chat or phone: which should you choose?

What to do when the contact buttons do not appear
If Amazon only shows tracking information, a return label, refund-status details, or an account-settings page, the selected workflow may be designed for self-service. It does not necessarily mean live support has been removed.
Try these steps:
- Return to the Customer Service page and select the specific order from Your Orders.
- Choose Something else instead of repeatedly opening the same help article.
- Select I need more help if it becomes available.
- Try the desktop website if the app keeps returning to the same screen.
- Check that you are signed in to the correct Amazon account and using the correct country marketplace.
- Try describing the problem accurately rather than choosing an unrelated category simply to force a contact option.
Amazon may legitimately keep some matters in self-service. For example, a straightforward package-tracking question or routine return may not produce a callback option. The available routes can also change after an order’s delivery, refund, or return status changes.
If a marketplace seller is involved

- Choose the relevant option, such as Problem with order, Get product support, Return items, or Ask Product Question.
- Follow the instructions to contact the seller or begin the appropriate Amazon process.
Amazon says sellers generally respond by email within 48 hours. Seller communications can be reviewed in Message Centre under Buyer/Seller Messages.
If the seller does not respond, the item is materially different from its description, or the delivery and refund process breaks down, return to Amazon Customer Service and explain what you already tried. Keep the order number, seller messages, photographs, tracking details, and return information.

Problems with Amazon Pay
Amazon Pay has a separate support channel. Use Amazon Pay’s Contact Us page for an Amazon Pay order or payment activity. For an ordinary purchase made on Amazon.com, use Amazon’s regular customer-service system instead.
If you cannot sign in
Signing in gives Amazon access to your orders, payment records, subscriptions, devices, and account-specific support options. If you are locked out, begin with Amazon’s account-recovery process and avoid numbers sent by someone claiming to be support.

What should you type in Amazon’s chatbot?

Amazon’s legitimate support process will not require you to buy gift cards, send a bank transfer, install software for remote access, or reveal your password or one-time code.
