Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 appeared on PlayStation’s PS5 download charts in both February and July 2026, but its position varied by month and region. It ranked fifth in the US/Canada and tenth in Europe in February, then nineteenth and twentieth, respectively, in July. These are PlayStation Store download rankings—not overall sales figures.
What the PlayStation charts show
Sony’s charts rank games by PlayStation Store downloads for a stated month and region. They do not report copies sold, revenue, or market share across the games industry.

Sony’s July post covers the previous month’s downloads and excludes upgrades from its listings. Sony also notes that game naming can vary by region. Its introductory text refers to Call of Duty: Black Ops II dominating the July charts; that statement is about Black Ops II, not Black Ops 7. The Black Ops 7 positions above come from the chart listings themselves.
Does this mean Black Ops 7 is the best-selling game overall?
No. A PlayStation Store download rank is limited to that storefront, platform category, region, and reporting period. It cannot establish how many copies Black Ops 7 sold across platforms, physical retail, or subscriptions. Sony’s cited chart posts do not state unit sales, revenue, or market share, so a rank should not be converted into a sales estimate.

For a meaningful chart comparison, keep the platform category, region, and reporting month consistent. The February and July figures are separate monthly snapshots, not a continuous sales series or evidence by themselves of a precise change in total demand.
What game and editions do the figures refer to?
Activision says Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched worldwide on November 14, 2025, with a co-op campaign, multiplayer, and Round-Based Zombies. Its edition guide lists a physical PS5 Standard Edition. It also lists a PS4 physical Cross-Gen Bundle that includes a voucher code for the PS5 digital version, and an Xbox Series X|Xbox One Cross-Gen Bundle. Activision says physical editions are unavailable for PC. These format details identify the game editions; they do not change what Sony’s download rankings measure.

What can be concluded from the headline?
A headline saying Black Ops 7 “rockets up” a sales chart needs a dated chart, region, and chart type to be evaluated. The indexed exact-title article appeared in search results dated May 20, 2026, but its page could not be inspected; the headline alone does not identify the period or chart it cites. Sony’s published figures show Black Ops 7 at #5 in US/Canada and #10 in Europe in February, and #19 and #20 in July. They do not establish an undated current surge or overall sales leadership.
