CBSE recruitment applications for the Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 are no longer open. The Central Board of Secondary Education accepted applications from 2 to 22 December 2025, and its recruitment page now lists later examination results and selection notices. The original detailed advertisement listed 124 tentative vacancies across nine post codes—not a verified 118—so check the official page for any corrigendum and post-specific updates.

Is CBSE recruitment open now?

No. The application window for CBSE’s Direct Recruitment Quota Examination 2026 (DRQ2026) ran from 2 December through 22 December 2025. Applications and fee payments were due online by 11:59 p.m. on 22 December. That date was also the eligibility reference date. The deadline has passed, so the original application link is not an active opportunity to apply.

For current status, results, selection notices, and any remaining post-specific updates, use the official CBSE recruitment page. CBSE directed applicants to apply through its website and said, “No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted.”

How many vacancies did the CBSE notice list?

CBSE’s detailed advertisement dated 2 December 2025 listed nine post codes and 124 initial vacancies across Groups A, B, and C. The advertisement described these vacancy figures as tentative.

Post Initial vacancies listed
Assistant Secretary 8
Assistant Professor and Assistant Director (Academics) 12
Assistant Professor and Assistant Director (Training) 8
Assistant Professor and Assistant Director (Skill Education) 7
Accounts Officer 2
Superintendent 27
Junior Translation Officer 9
Junior Accountant 16
Junior Assistant 35
Total in the detailed advertisement 124

The recruitment headline’s 118 figure cannot be confirmed from the detailed advertisement’s initial vacancy list. CBSE’s recruitment page lists a corrigendum dated 18 December 2025, but its effect on the total is not established here. Do not treat either number as the final amended count without checking that corrigendum and any later official notice.

What were the application fees?

The original notice required online payment and said fees already paid would not be refunded. These were fees for the closed 2025 application window, not current charges.

Candidate category Group A total Groups B and C total
SC/ST/PwBD/ex-servicemen/women ₹250 processing fee ₹250 processing fee
UR/OBC/EWS ₹1,750 ₹1,050

What was the CBSE DRQ2026 exam pattern?

The detailed advertisement describes a two-tier examination. Selection could also include an interview or a qualifying skill test, depending on the post. Candidates had to submit a separate application for each post, even where Tier-I testing was grouped.

Tier-I

Tier-I syllabus areas included current affairs and general awareness, reasoning and analytical ability, arithmetic and numerical ability, Hindi and English comprehension or communication, and basic computer proficiency.

Tier-II and later stages

Tier-II was specific to the post and could cover descriptive writing, accounting, administration, or other role-related topics. Whether an interview or qualifying skill test followed depended on the post; candidates should use the detailed advertisement and later notices for the relevant post’s requirements.

Where can candidates check CBSE recruitment results?

Check the CBSE recruitment page for DRQ2026 results, selection notices, corrigenda, and other updates. The page lists later notices through September 2026, so it is the appropriate official source for the status of a particular post.
