Skinnygirl ranks first among these Real Housewives businesses because it has the clearest publicly reported commercial-scale figures. Kandi Burruss’s diverse portfolio ranks second, Lisa Vanderpump’s hospitality and consumer-product ventures third, and Heather Thomson’s Yummie fourth. This is an editorial ranking based on documented scale, business breadth, and evidence of activity—not a ranking of profit, company value, or the women’s personal wealth.

“Started by” includes a business or brand a cast member founded or co-founded either before or during her time on television. Where the timing is documented, it is noted below. The order weighs publicly reported commercial scale most heavily, then the breadth of documented business lines and evidence of activity. The available figures are not directly comparable: they describe different kinds of activity, come from different years, and do not establish founder earnings or audited company valuations.

1. Bethenny Frankel: Skinnygirl
Skinnygirl has the strongest documented commercial-scale evidence in this group. Bravo identifies Frankel as its founder and CEO and describes the brand’s creation as part of her Real Housewives career. TIME reported that she launched the first Skinnygirl Margarita during The Real Housewives of New York City’s second season in 2009. In 2011, she sold the cocktail line to Beam Global for a reported $100 million while retaining the right to use the Skinnygirl name on non-alcohol products.
A separate measure appeared in Entrepreneur in 2025: the publication reported $1 billion in retail sales for Skinnygirl shapewear, salad dressings, popcorn, and coffee. That is a reported retail-sales figure for those categories—not audited company revenue, proceeds from a sale, or Frankel’s personal take-home earnings. The two figures describe different things and should not be added together or treated as competing estimates of the same value.

The brand’s current site lists dressings and fruit preserves, while Bravo identifies Frankel as founder and CEO. Those listings establish brand presence, but a product listing alone does not confirm availability from a particular retailer.
2. Kandi Burruss: Bedroom Kandi and a broad portfolio
Burruss’s official profile lists a range of ventures: multimedia agency Kandi Koated Entertainment; Bedroom Kandi; Kandi Koated Beauty; the Old Lady Gang and Blaze Steak & Seafood restaurants; and TAGS apparel boutiques. Bedroom Kandi’s official page identifies Burruss as its founder and lists intimate toys and accessories, bath and body products, beauty and personal care, and cosmetics.

Kandi.com reports 2,500 Bedroom Kandi consultants across the country. The profile does not establish when that count was measured, so it should not be presented as a current headcount. It is also not a sales or revenue figure. The case for Burruss’s high ranking is the breadth of her documented portfolio, rather than a directly comparable financial result.
3. Lisa Vanderpump: Hospitality and branded products
Vanderpump’s documented ventures span hospitality and consumer products. In a 2024 announcement, Caesars Entertainment reported the grand opening of Wolf by Vanderpump at Harveys Lake Tahoe. The same announcement listed Vanderpump Wines, Vanderpump Vodka, Vanderpump Sangria, a pet accessories line, and a lighting and furniture collection among her other endeavors. The Vanderpump family’s current brand site also describes Vanderpump Wines and other family ventures.

These sources establish named venues and product categories, but do not provide financial measures that can be compared with the Skinnygirl figures or with one another. Caesars Entertainment also reported that the Vanderpump Dog Foundation had rescued more than 2,300 dogs domestically, plus hundreds internationally, as of its 2024 announcement. That is a dated charitable-impact figure, not evidence of business sales.
4. Heather Thomson: Yummie
Bravo identifies Thomson as the creator of Yummie by Heather Thomson. Its account traces the brand’s product development from an original three-panel shapewear tank into bras, underwear, denim, leggings, activewear, and loungewear; Bravo says loungewear launched in 2015.

This documents the brand’s historical category expansion, but the available information does not establish sales, profit, valuation, or whether Yummie is operating today. The evidence also does not give a reliable launch date relative to Thomson’s television tenure, so it is not possible to label the brand as having started before or during the show.

It does not verify current operations for every business or current retail inventory. Brand catalogs and venue offerings can change, so check an official business or venue listing for present-day status before relying on it.
