The PS5 Slim Disc Edition was listed at Rs 49,990, down from Rs 54,990, and the Digital Edition at Rs 44,990, down from Rs 49,990. The offer ran from November 21 to December 4, 2025, and has ended. The “up to Rs 10,000” maximum applied to PlayStation VR2, not either console.
What were the reported PS5 Black Friday prices in India?
Moneycontrol’s contemporaneous report on the India promotion listed these console prices. They are historical offer figures, not current prices or a guarantee of what any retailer charges today.
| Model | Reported sale price | Reported regular price | Reported reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 Slim Disc Edition (CFI-2008A01X) | Rs 49,990 | Rs 54,990 | Rs 5,000 |
| PS5 Digital Edition (CFI-2008B01X) | Rs 44,990 | Rs 49,990 | Rs 5,000 |
Moneycontrol’s report on the India sale says the promotion ran November 21 through December 4, 2025. The figures reflect that promotion only; the report is not an independently audited or market-wide price survey.
Why did the headline say “up to Rs 10,000”?
The maximum discount was for PlayStation VR2: Moneycontrol reported it at Rs 34,999, reduced from Rs 44,999. The PS5 consoles in the offer were each reported Rs 5,000 lower. The headline’s maximum therefore described a different product, not a Rs 10,000 cut on either PS5 model.

How should you treat the sale figures now?
PlayStation’s global Black Friday 2025 announcement said local promotions would vary by region and retailer, and directed readers to local offers for details. Its global announcement does not establish the India rupee prices. Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President, Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, wrote: “Visit the official PlayStation Black Friday site starting on November 21 for updates on local offers, as promotions will vary by region and retailer.”
The India-specific prices and dates above come from contemporaneous reporting, rather than a first-party Sony India notice establishing those exact terms.
