What is Blue Scarab Entertainment?
Blue Scarab Entertainment is a Stockholm, Sweden-based game studio that announced its establishment on July 17, 2024. At launch, it described its workplace as hybrid and remote. Its leaders were CEO Colin Cragg and CTO Enno Rehling, whom the studio said had over 40 years of combined experience in MMORPGs.

The company also said its team had grown past twenty developers, with experience from franchises including Helldivers 2, Star Stable Online, World of Warcraft, Battlefield and Age of Conan. These team details were reported by the studio in its launch announcement.
Who invested in Blue Scarab Entertainment?
Blue Scarab announced that it had secured over $7 million in seed investment, led by NetEase Inc. and Behold Ventures. It also named Raw Fury founder Jonas Antonsson, Betware founder Ólafur Andri Ragnarsson and Creandum founder Stefan Lindeberg as key investors. The announcement did not disclose individual contributions, so the total should not be treated as exactly $7 million or divided among the investors.

CEO Colin Cragg said, “With the backing of NetEase Games we’re empowered to bring our vision to life.” The statement reflects the company’s view; it does not provide further terms of the investment.
What game is Blue Scarab making?
At the studio’s launch, Blue Scarab described its first project as an original-IP MMORPG being built with Unreal Engine 5. The concept combined cozy exploration with a dark mystery: players would explore an open world on horseback and uncover the mystery together. In a March 28, 2025 announcement, the studio revealed the title Equinox: Homecoming and described it as a multiplayer online role-playing game centered on cozy exploration and an occult murder mystery.

Those announcements establish the game’s broad premise, not detailed mechanics. They do not specify its monetization, subscription model, player count or release window.
Is Equinox: Homecoming on Steam?
Blue Scarab said in its March 2025 announcement that Equinox: Homecoming would be coming to Steam. That is a statement of intended platform, not confirmation that the game is currently available. The official announcements and news index cited here do not establish a release date or present-day store status.

The launch announcement is useful for understanding the studio’s initial financing, leadership and first project. It is not a current financing update or a complete product listing. It names no physical edition, merchandise or required accessory, and does not establish changes to funding or the project’s status after the cited announcements.
