On July 31, 2024, BlockDAG announced Antony Turner as its CEO and said it was introducing its executive team and advisory board. The announcement and a same-day interview described Turner’s background and his vision for the project, but the biographical and fundraising figures in those materials are company statements, not independently verified findings.

What BlockDAG announced on July 31, 2024

BlockDAG framed the leadership reveal as a move toward greater transparency. Its July 31 announcement presented Antony Turner as CEO and said the company was revealing an executive team and advisory board. The company’s blog index also lists a Turner interview published that day; an August 2 recap described the reveal as the week’s opening event.

This is a historical account of a 2024 announcement, not confirmation of BlockDAG’s current leadership. The materials cited here establish what BlockDAG published at the time; they do not independently verify that every named role or organizational detail remains current.

Who is Antony Turner, according to BlockDAG?

BlockDAG’s announcement and same-day interview described Turner as having more than 30 years of experience across technology-related sectors, including fintech, education, travel, and crypto. The company also discussed his prior roles and his connection with SwissOne Capital. These are company-published biographical claims; the materials available here do not independently corroborate them through third-party records.

In the interview, Turner described a vision combining blockchain innovation with traditional finance and recounted his account of founding BlockDAG. Those comments represent his stated perspective, not independent evidence of the network’s performance or development status.

What did BlockDAG say about its team?

BlockDAG presented the announcement as a reveal of both an executive team and an advisory board. Its official wiki summary attributes remarks to Turner emphasizing the professionals working with him. The summary quotes him as saying, “None of this would be possible without the incredible professionals who stand with me. Each team member brings invaluable expertise and dedication, driving us forward every day.” The source is a BlockDAG wiki summary, rather than a transcript independently checked against the video.

The same wiki summary attributes this description of the project to Turner: “We’ve taken the best features from certain chains and put them together to create something truly special.” It is a statement of the project’s intended approach, not a measurable comparison or proof of technical results.

How to interpret the announcement’s numbers

The announcement and interview included figures that should be read as contemporaneous company claims. They are not audited or independently established by the materials cited here.

  • More than 30 years of experience: BlockDAG’s description of Turner’s career in 2024.
  • $62.3 million raised: the presale amount reported in the July 31 announcement. The same-day interview used the rounded description “more than $62 million”; these are two versions of the company’s contemporaneous claim, not separate verified results.
  • More than 100,000 Twitter followers: a figure stated in the interview and not independently checked.

A BlockDAG wiki summary also mentions over 170,000 unique holders and a year-end $600 million target. Because the summary does not establish those figures independently or give a publication date, they should not be treated as verified outcomes or as figures confirmed by the July 2024 announcement.

How the 2024 reveal relates to BlockDAG today

BlockDAG’s current keynote page is dated September 14, 2026 and discusses a later product ecosystem, including the X1 app and X10, X30, and X100 miners. That later material is separate from the 2024 leadership announcement. The keynote describes the X1 as an app and lists the X10, X30, and X100 as hardware; its claims do not provide independently verified comparative performance data. It therefore cannot establish how the products compare or update the historical leadership details.
