The dessert combined chocolate Yogo with a crumble “dirt” base and marshmallows. That was a reported 2024 return date, not confirmation that the product is available now.
What was Dirt Dessert Yogo?
Dirt Dessert was a chocolate Yogo dessert with a crumble “dirt” base and marshmallows, according to PerthNow’s report on Brownes’ announcement. It was distinct from ordinary chocolate Yogo: the crumble and marshmallows were part of the Dirt Dessert combination.
When did Brownes announce its return?
PerthNow reported on 29 August 2024 that the dessert would return to stores on Friday, 30 August 2024. That date records the announced return; it does not establish current stock or availability in any particular location.
Why had it been discontinued?
PerthNow reported that Dirt Dessert had been discontinued in 2012 after its marshmallow supplier went out of business. The article does not provide further details about the supplier or the product’s later production.

What did the campaign figures measure?
The campaign to bring the dessert back drew attention over several years, but the published figures refer to different measures:
| Figure | What it measures | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| More than 2,400 | Followers of the Bring Back Yogo Dirt Dessert Facebook group | PerthNow, August 2024 |
| More than 10,000 | People who Brownes said showed interest in the 2018 protest | Brownes Dairy’s #dirtgate archive, referring to the 2018 protest |
These numbers describe different audiences and should not be treated as equivalent counts or as sales figures.

Is Dirt Dessert Yogo available now?
The available product listings do not verify current Dirt Dessert stock. Brownes’ Yogo and Desserts page lists chocolate Yogo in its range, while Woolworths lists Brownes YoGo Chocolate Yoghurt in a 170g size. Neither listing confirms that Dirt Dessert is currently being sold. Check local retailer listings for any current stock information.
The Woolworths listing identifies ingredients for its chocolate Yogo product, but that is not an ingredient list for Dirt Dessert. It cannot establish the ingredients of the returning dessert.
