STARLUX and Alaska Airlines announced a codeshare on October 4, 2024, linking eight Alaska-operated U.S. routes to Seattle with STARLUX’s Seattle–Taipei flight. Those eight cities describe the original launch, not a confirmed complete list of routes available today. STARLUX booking pages accessed October 8, 2026, show a different set of Alaska connection examples and identify both Seattle and San Francisco as gateways.
Which eight U.S. cities were in the original codeshare?
STARLUX’s October 4, 2024 launch announcement named these Alaska-operated domestic routes to Seattle:
- Salt Lake City
- San Diego
- Phoenix
- Portland
- Las Vegas
- Dallas
- Denver
- Austin
From Seattle, travelers could connect to STARLUX’s Seattle–Taipei service. The announcement described booking the connecting itinerary on one ticket through STARLUX’s website or app. The eight-city count and city list belong to that 2024 announcement.
What routes does STARLUX advertise now?
STARLUX booking pages accessed October 8, 2026, advertise Alaska domestic connections through Seattle or San Francisco, naming seven origin cities. The pages provide examples rather than a dated, exhaustive route matrix, and do not establish that every origin connects through both gateways.

STARLUX’s 2025 annual report also refers to eight major U.S. cities via Seattle but does not name them. That count alone does not confirm that the 2024 launch cities remain the current list.
What does the codeshare mean for a traveler?
A codeshare allows airlines to sell eligible flight segments under their own flight codes. In the original arrangement, Alaska operated the domestic flights to Seattle and STARLUX operated the transpacific Seattle–Taipei segment. STARLUX said the connecting itinerary could be booked as a single ticket on its website and app; its current booking pages continue to advertise single-ticket codeshare itineraries.

One-ticket booking is useful when comparing an itinerary, but it does not by itself establish the baggage, check-in, mileage-earning, or other rules for every route and fare. Check the terms shown for the exact itinerary with the airline before booking, especially if you are comparing separate tickets with a codeshare itinerary.
How the partnership developed
- March 28, 2024: Alaska announced STARLUX’s planned Seattle–Taipei route and said the service was scheduled to start August 16, initially at three flights per week. Alaska also said Mileage Plan members could earn and redeem miles on STARLUX at that time. The three-flight frequency was the initial plan, not a current schedule.
- August 16, 2024: STARLUX’s Seattle service began, according to Alaska’s announcement.
- October 4, 2024: STARLUX announced its first codeshare partnership, naming the eight Alaska-operated domestic routes to Seattle.
- February 12, 2026: Alaska Air Group’s 2025 Form 10-K, filed on this date, listed STARLUX as a codeshare partner in both marketing directions. The filing reported approximately 5% of Alaska’s total operating revenue from codeshare and interline agreements collectively in each of 2023, 2024, and 2025. That figure is company-wide for those agreements, not revenue attributable to STARLUX.

Because the launch list and current booking-page examples differ, use the airline’s live booking results for the dates you intend to travel rather than treating either list as a complete route map. Compare:
